Great History Tour of Historic Hotel
Apr 2021
I really enjoyed learning about the rich history of this historical hotel from our very knowledgeable tour guide. I especially liked being taken to parts of the hotel that are normally not open to the public. I highly recommend this tour!

Quite a guy!
Feb 2020
This place was quite different from other museums.

This is the place of Howard H Tim Hays.

Here is the Cabinets of curiosity.

He worked to make an attraction.

he was the first lemon that was placed here. By the way.

He had a plan, but was not finished.

Disappointing Museum
Aug 2020
Several out of state friends arrived for a week visit and expressed a desire to explore the sites of the local area. Headed off to Riverside, California to explore the local culture and various sites. First stop the Mission Inn, located on Mission Inn Avenue. To our dismay, the Mission Inn and all associated restaurants are closed due to the Corona Virus regulations. After walking around the complex and examining the exterior of the building, we landed up on the Pedestrian Mall in front of the Mission Inn Museum (located at the corner of Main Street and Mission Inn Avenue). The Mission Inn Museum is a very small 2 room museum which displayed several artifacts from the Mission Inn. The Mission Inn Museum and Store is open daily, 0930-1630. A Raincross bell, several items of furniture belong to the Miller family (original owner of the Mission Inn) and a large collection of paintings of the Mission Inn over the years hang on the walls. The second room features a nice coral ceramic flower display and a large model of the original Mission Inn. The Mission Inn Museum is also the starting point for all Mission Inn tours, All Tours are currently suspended. The majority of this establishment is dedicated to a Museum Store which sells unique Mission Inn souvenirs (books, tee shirts, local art, stationary, and jewelry items). Staff is friendly and helpful. No entry fee charged. Interesting museum but extremely limited display. If you are in the area and have nothing else to do, suggest stopping in for a quick look.

Hello! We do welcome you to come back once we're open again. Our tours and gallery space are currently closed, and those are the whole of the experience we offer for guests. Come back for a tour, see our soon to be installed exhibit Toward Peace and we think you won't be disappointed!

A visit to the Mission of Frank Augustus Miller Museum, Riverside
Jan 2020
This is all about Frank Augustus Miller. Anything he saw, he kept it forever. He had all kinds of souvenirs. He even had a statue of a devil.

He called The cabinets of : "His cabinets of curiosity."

He was the first one ti plant a citrus at Riverside. Then, more people planted citrus also .

You will see some of his cabinets of curiosity.

Enjoy Worthwhile to see!

Beautiful Architecture
Nov 2019
We self toured around the building and grounds. What amazing and articulate architecture. The details are second to none. The floral displays thru out were well maintained and colorful. We spent a hour walking around thru out the building. A place unexpected when stopping by the town for lunch!

The tour of this historic hotel and learning its heritage in the life of Riverside was terrific, and the docent who led the tour was extremely knowledgeable.

Whenever I want a memorable experience the Mission Inn is my go to destination. Whether it;s during Christmas with all the festivities and lights or a nice meal and dance. Mission Inn does not disappoint and I highly recommend the weekend buffets.

Lovely place to stay and eat
Mar 2019
One of my most favorite places in the City of Riverside. I lived in Riverside 30 years and only go back now to visit my grown kids but still go there to eat or wander around.

Excellent Historical Resource for the Mission Inn
Oct 2019
The Mission Inn Museum if a foundation for the preservation and historical resource for the Mission Inn. They have interesting exhibits at the museum and the descents there are very helpful and informative about the history of the Mission Inn and the city of Riverside. You can sign up for descent led tours of the museum. They also sells books and souvenirs of the Mission Inn. I found less expensive postcards and magnets of the Mission Inn versus the Mission Inn gift shop. I recommend visiting this museum if your interested in the background and history of the Mission Inn
