The ARBT is a great oppurtunity for the family to get out from behind their tech gadgets and spend a day together. Bring lot's of water and pace yourself the trail is paved and has two lanes to provide organized biking for everyone. Have fun.

Seriously. I do. I live in Sac and I bike the trail many times a week and I'm completely obsessed with it. As good as Napa's wines or Texas BBQ or Temple's macchiatos (a few more of my obsessions).

What's not to like with views if the beautiful American River, plenty of wildlife and well maintained path. Parks with water fountains and restrooms are located along the path. The route curves and inclines to keep it interesting and it's mostly shady as well.

It's a wonderful feature of Sacramento & great for cycling. But be very alert near the Black Diamond plant & all the way out to CSUS. There are often a lot of very rough people in those parts & they may be walking right down the middle with a bottle in hand. If they are sitting, they usually are good... More

Beginning at Discovery Park at the confluence of the American and Sacramento Rivers, the American River Bike Trail winds beautifully for 30 miles on paved and clearly marked "lanes" towards the historic city of Folsom. No matter where you decide to start your journey on this wonderfully well kept trail, you will be rewarded...resting places as well as parks and... More

Hard to praise it too much! A bikers great resource that I have ridden for decades, only blocks from our home. Serious bikers share it with walkers and their dogs or older riders like myself. Enjoy the rivers scenery and seasonal changes. Stretching from the Sacramento River confluence to Folsom Lake , I have ridden it all. For decades I... More

This is a GREAT trail with plenty of spaces to stop and enjoy the river and the settings! Just avoid those most popular times where every yahoo is on the trail!

Gorgeous trail on the American River. Great riding. A number of entry points and simply gorgeous views. A real Sacramento Treasure. One danger area where the trail wanders through and by Discovery Park near the confluence of the American and Sacramento rivers. Trail is through homeless camping areas.

There's nothing like a cruise up (or down) the bike trail. You might have to stop for some wild turkeys - or watch a deer, but that's part of the fun. They even blast it clean with a giant fan pulled by a pickup truck. You can stop at interesting places, like William Pond, detour to downtown Folsom, or zoom... More

Whether riding my bike or hiking, I love the American River Bike Trail, regardless of the season. Spring and fall are gorgeous: the new growth in the spring and the fall colors this time of year along with the wildlife and the rushing river make for a wonderful experience. The natural beauty of the trail make for wonderful photos, plein... More
