This former winery, Christian Brothers, is the site of the Culinary Institute of America - California. Well worth the time to stop, take a break from wine tasting, and see some very interesting things. The Vintner's hall of fame--perfect!, The Corkscrew collection. The gift shop. If you have time a nosh ... The grounds are gorgeous, the staff so helpful.... More

Superbowl weekend in Napa was particularly blustery. We needed a break, and Greystone was perfect! We observed live cooking demonstrations, and chatted with the chocolatier as we enjoyed various coffee drinks, chocolates and baked desserts created on site by the Culinary Institute students. The gift shop featured everything from cooking gifts for kids, Napa inspired kitchen towels and coasters, and... More

I was really looking forward to visiting the Culinary Institute of America in St Helena. What a disappointment! When we entered the grand entrance of this huge estate, I expected to learn about the history of the building and the CIA as well as the famous alum who attended the CIA. Instead, we were greeted by 3 bored people at... More

Nice place to visit in the middle of Napa valley. The store is smaller than it used to be so not as many kitchen gadgets as there used to be but still a lot to see in a great old building.

Went to Greystone before starting tasting for the day. Food was outstanding, portions just the right size. The kitchen is open so you can watch the chefs prepare your food which adds to the fun atmosphere. Ask for a wine pairing recommendation.

We dined at the CIA at Greystone while visiting the Napa Valley area and it was a real treat. The ambience was warm and romantic and the service was outstanding. It was great fun to see the new talented chefs-in-training hard at work. We had a choice of three multi-course options and we selected a fish and a steak option... More

The fabulous building is a treat in itself to visit. We didn't visit to attend any seminar or course but walked around to see the wonderful display of culinary tools and items. The cafe inside serves coffee, tea, drinks, chocolates and bakery items. Service was good and food tasty. A brief yet memorable trip to this place near Napa Valley.

Reservations required but worth the visit. Unusual food with unique wine pairings and an excellent cooking school and accessories shop. All is prepared by the students and the venue is spectacular.

We decided to have lunch at Greystone, but could not get a reservation until later in the afternoon, so we decided to go early and walk around. What a lovely experience. The school is open for visitors to wander around. I loved seeing all the students in their chef's attire living their dream. Lunch was prepared by the students as... More

It's definitely worth visiting the Culinary Institute of America. The food is very good. We ordered three small dishes and two side dishes for lunch. The Spinach Gnocchi was excellent. Service was professional but relaxed. The building is impressive and the facility itself is inviting. It's worth walking through the gift shop area to get s feel for the facility.... More
