We started off 2023 with a visit to KEENAN Winery, nestled in the hills of Saint Helena in the Napa Valley. We thoroughly enjoyed the causal, personable tasting experience which was in January after the weeks of rain that drenched California. It’s another family-owned winery with some great offerings in a peaceful setting.

Excellent wine tour and education by Elizabeth at Keenan. Keenan is a family owned off the usual wine tasting path. But if you are looking for a hillside wine tasting experience in a beautiful setting, check out Keenan. We were lucky enough to learn about Keenan through our sommelier at home. Awesome experience! Make a reservation.

We've been to RK a couple of times now and it starts to grow on you. The wine is OK, the view is nice and the service is great. Worth a nice visit.

Another stop on our Spring Mountain day. This place is really off the beaten path. Take a nap and directions. The tasting room looks out on the vineyards and down the hill. It’s more like a cozy living room with the fireplace. The staff here are very nice, knowledgeable and laid back. We were late because we got lost. They were very chill about it. We had to rush through our tastings in order to make it to the next place. The wines were very good. Some big reds, nicely balanced. My favorites were the cab franc and the spring mountain reserve cab.

We will be back again to spend a little more time when we are not rushed.

After several formal tours of wineries, it was nice to drive up to Keenan, chill at the bar, and enjoy the laid back atmosphere. Laura was AMAZING! She is so relaxed and generously pours numerous wines, while providing plenty of information about the vineyard and wines in a non pressuring way. Midway through the tasting, she took us downstairs to see the barrel room and wine making process (we got to see Syrah fermenting as it was harvest time). The view is nice and we also got to sample fresh figs. We ended up ordering several wines (our favorite were the cab, syrah, and cab franc, although the merlot was great as well), and she comped our tasting fee. Overall, we loved Keenan and will definitely return! If you are looking for a relaxed, laid back atmosphere in between the stuffy, scripted tours and tastings, this is the place for you!
Thank you Laura for an amazing time!!!

This is the most consistent Spring Mountain winery in my opinion. All wines are above average and some are absolutely fantastic! Can't wait for our next trip to Napa purely to visit Robert Keenan Winery. I joined the wine club and very happy I did. While we enjoy wines from all over the world. In many respects we measure them against Keenan. If you want to know great California Merlot - this is it. We love Merlot because it goes with just about any food. While Keenan Cabs are fantastic, I particularly love the Merlot. Consistently the best in California.,

Coming from Ohio, Robert Keenan winds are hard to find in the local stores. My wife and I first tried These wines at one of our localrestaurants. At that time we had tried the Merlot as well as the Zinfandel. We decided on our first day into Napa to visit the winery. Last year, when we were at heitz, we had met a couple from Nebraska who spoke highly of the winery. The Drive to spring mountain is absolutely scenic. Laura, the hostess did an excellent job and we even did a small tour. Their Chardonnay was refreshing. We liked the Mernet (1/2 cab and 1/2 merlot) so much that we bought a bottle to take for dinner at bouchon two nights later. If you are a red wine drinker, you will not be disappointed.

This was my first visit to Keenan although I have been a Club member since 1998. The winery is at the top of a mountain at about 2,000 feet. The view is nice and the tasting room is nice. The grandson of the founder was our host. He was a blast. We toured the wine cave and had a very good and extensive tasting. I love the wine and and I am pleased with the visit. The winery is not as “fancy” as many others, but the wine is really good and really consistent.

Keenan was our third winery that we visited and while the wine was good... the visit was just average. The view was pretty, but I didn't necessarily feel that there was anything special about this winery. If we come out to Napa again, I would skip this one.

We have loved many bottles of Keenan over the years so visiting Napa this time we were excited to visit the winery. However after the windy drive we were disappointed with the tasting experience. The wine was good but the atmosphere wasn't what it could be. They could really capture an audience with the potential views on that property but choose not to. We were in a dark barn and the views were just outside.
