Sweet in town park
Aug 2019
Thanks to the generosity of George Lucas we have this sweet little park in the center of town. The fountain with statues of Indiana Jones and Yoda are a tribute to the fact that the movie Star Wars was conceived in a small shop on San Anselmo Ave across from this park. The site was originally a drug store, then an antique and home decorating market. Lucas purchased the building and razed if for the park which we all love. Summer picnics, meeting place, and child friendly this was such a gift from a kind and generous resident.

Great stop and photo op with Indi and Yoda statues, and great park to enjoy gelato from across the street or shop the boutiques. Love the bookstore.

Really Just 2 Statues
Mar 2019 • Couples
The park is cute, really small and has 2 statues, Yoda and Indiana Jones. Not worth a special trip but if you’re in the area, take a peek.

A beautiful small park given to San Anselmo by resident George Lucas. It includes characters from his movies. Very well maintained in downtown San Anselmo

A real gift!
May 2018 • Family
This delightful little park in the heart of Downtown San Anselmo is a welcome respite where one picnic and can allow children to play on the grass, shaded by pretty trees, while keeping a watchful eye on them and chatting with friends and "strangers" alike. The kids are alway delighted by the fountain and the statues of Yoda and Indy. Thank you George Lucas for your generosity in donating this adorable gift to the City of San Anselmo.

Cute but not a destination
Aug 2017 • Family
This is a nice, well manicured little park tucked into a corner of downtown San Anselmo. If you're shopping on a warm weather day, it's a perfectly lovely place to sit down. However, if you're a George Lucas fan and think this park is a destination for some Star Wars / Raiders of the Lost Ark action, it's not! Yes, there is a fountain and statues of Yoda and Indiana Jones, but that's about as far as that goes.

How many pocket parks have a Yoda and Indy statue?
Dec 2017 • Couples
If you're in the area, be sure to stop by Imagination Park. Located next to the San Anselmo Town Hall, the park was donated to the town by George Lucas, who agreed to tear down an ugly, unused2-story building he owned and donate the land.

Besides grass, paths, trees that are lit at night with thousands of lights, there's a fun fountain with statues of both Yoda and Indiana Jones, along with inscriptions describing how these characters (and the movies they're from) were born in San Anselmo in the 1970s. Make a wish, throw in penny.

Pleasant enough "neighborhood" park
Dec 2017 • Friends
If it were not for the George Lucas connection, this really would just be a pleasant, nicely done but nothing special neighborhood park. But it is located in downtown San Anselmo and it was apparently funded by George Lucas (who lives nearby). Most of the park, which is a small block square, is lawn or walkway or bench. At one end of the park is a fountain about 7 feet in diameter with some water flowing over rocks and two statues in them -- one of Indiana Jones and the other of Yoda. Each carries a plaque noting that the character was created in San Anselmo (and a couple of other plaques ask you not to climb on the fountain). There benches all contain plaques indicating various people donated them. There are also a few small trees in the area and these each have an electrical outlet near them which power the holiday lights on the trees (it was the holiday time when I visited although since it was daytime I couldn't see the effect). There was also a holiday tree with colored lights near the fountain.

To sum it up, this is a pleasant place to sit or walk but nothing special and no reason to make a special trip to see it.

Just 2 Lucas Film Character Statues
Aug 2017 • Family
Small. Nice statues and benches. Good location in the middle of town. No parking. Not a lot of shade. Lots of families visit. Nice place to take your coffee and gluten free pastry from Flour Craft Bakery and people watch.
