This Museum is focused on ancient Egypt and is housed in a building resembling an Egyptian temple. Using photographs and mock ups it educates visitors on the culture and civilization of the time. Unfortunately a lot of the exhibits are rather crude copies of the...More

The museum has an amazing collection of artifact (mummified cats, catfish and corn!). Some of the larger items are reproductions. The Egyptian-style buildings and garden add to the effect. There is also a planetarium next to the museum.

The museum is kid-friendly. I didn't see anything that would frighten a 5 year old. They have an area with kid-friendly and touchable items. One section has an optional walk-through room section that resembles the inside... More

Probably Caltrain from the City to San Jose and then Uber or a taxi to the museum. You can 'google' Caltrain for the cost, schedule and station locations.
