Hiked from Patricia Drive trailhead-the "easy" start. Longer hike but with a more gradual vertical gain initially. Very nice challenging hike. Go before it gets too hot. Lots of folks on the trail; quite a few with dogs along. Great views of entire valley from the top. Highly recommended for a good 3 hour hike.

I can believe the view from the top of Bishop Peak is wonderful since it is very good even two-thirds of the way up which is as far as I got. It was not so much the effort of going up but my fear of losing my footing on the very rugged path on the way down (I have a... More

When it's nice outside it's a great and relatively easy climb. Beautiful view. When it's hot, it's hot! :)

This is a great hike! I would recommend going all the way to the top of Bishop's as the view is just stunning. Make sure to bring your camera!

A great hike with gorgeous views all around but tough: very steep, loose dirt and rocks on the trail. Be prepared to take your time, take water, use sunscreen.

Be sure to bring you point and shoot camera for some beautiful pictures. There are wonderful 360 views from the peak of the San Luis Valley. On a clear day you can see from Edna all the way to Morro Bay.

We are 60 and did the climb...plenty of uphill but worth it for the view and the descent was fine. Pretty well marked but could be better. Saw a couple of young folks doubling back on their way down as the way to parking spots is not so clear. That would have been no fun!

Last 1/2 mile real steep but worth the view, a lot of switch backs, no much shade, take a lot of water

Not as difficult as I expected..Beautiful scenery. Busy enough to travel it alone, but more fun with a friend. Totally worth it!

Always love a trip up Bishop Peak. The view at the top is super. Be careful moving about the big rocks at the top. Could be a bit of poison oak at the top too. Go for it, you won't be sorry. :)
