Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This public park on the north side of Santa Barbara has wonderful views toward the ocean and the mountains, as well as across the city. The park also has playing fields, trails, and other recreational facilities, but the views are what make it special. Follow the road to the very top, park there, and walk a little further for a special experience.

This is a huge park, with many sport fields and a correspondingly large parking lot. But if you are not headed to a specific game, follow the single-lane road that continues up to the top of the hill. From one direction you can see the ocean and from the other Santa Barbara. It’s a charming park with many trees. The day we visited, there were only a few people, but this is a popular wedding site, so it could be more crowded.

This is a beautiful park. The best part is at the very top where the best views are. It is a little hard to find, you have to go up (take a left) up the small almost hidden paved road right in front or by the ranger (or park) station. It is great to walk around there, take pictures and there is a small amphitheater that I think was donated by Wells Fargo. I think this area and Franceschi Park have the best views in Santa Barbara.

On Saturday, February 25, 2017, we attended a beautiful wedding for my cousin at Godric Grove in Elings Park, Santa Barbara. The day was great until I went back to our car, parked in the parking lot, to change my coat. When I opened up the back of
our van, I found that our suitcase was gone, alone with a duffel bag. Our kids suitcases were still there. There was not any damage to the van and we are sure we locked the van. It made for an interesting evening, running around Santa Barbara for toiletries for the night. If you visit Godric Grove, I recommend you don't leave anything in your car. We made a police report, but don't expect to hear back. We were later told that same evening, that another family attending the wedding had their luggage stolen also.

Next to the ocean, lots of open space with views and activities like mountain biking, para sailing, hiking. There are sports fields soccer and baseball.

Attended a family wedding at Elings Park and was so pleased with everything involved. Located on the top of a hill overlooking the ocean on one side and the hills on the other, the cool ocean breeze kept the temperature pleasant. The grassy amphitheater was the perfect setting for the bridal party, and the seating was ample for a small to medium wedding. A short walk away was a grassy area suited to a reception, and just beyond that was an area that was able to accomodate a fairly large seated dinner. Food and supplies had to be brought in, but the effects were truly wonderful. Indoor permanent bathrooms were available and that was a plus.

Paragliding is from South entry. You can drive up to the top where paragliding group are gathered. The view was beautiful and paragliding seems fun. Many people were there in the morning around 9am and they can fly by themselves within few hours. Very cool.

For a game of soccer or softball with tables for families and teams to share a meal, this beautiful hill-top park has a city-view arena and ocean-view hiking. My grandkids enjoy looking for lizards!

This is a hidden gem and always a surprise for locals as well as visitors with the expansive views of the magnificent mountains. So many think of Santa Barbara for its seascapes , but the real pleasure is the mountain range that is part of Los Padres National Forest and separates the coastal settlements from the interior Santa Ynez valley.
