My husband and I went on the Redwoods jaunt, which lasted about 75 minutes. So beautiful riding through the forest. The seats aren't all that comfortable-especially since my husband has back issues. Midway through, there was a little "show" of gunslingers. Could have done without...More

A great couple of hours looking at the steam engine and travelling amongst the very impressive giant redwood trees - thoroughly recommended to everyone.

Our family went to Felton for the Redwood tour on the steam train. The train we had had an awning, so you could only see the bottoms of the trees and the other people on the trains you were facing. And due to safely rules,...More

Had a great time. We'll do it again (and again) because of the relaxing feel. They had additional trains for families with kiddos but this one was for adults.

We went for the steam train ride through the redwoods and were not disappointed with that experience. We were there when they had a Thomas train event for kids and the place was very busy but we still had no trouble getting around. Since our...More

We went here for an afternoon ride early fall. As there are multiple options, we chose to go with the Steam Train through the Redwoods which, we felt, would be exciting for our 2 year old as well as interesting and educative for us as...More

A ride on a steam train was on my bucket list. This has to be the best one anywhere. The ride takes you through the redwood forest. These trees are some of nature's greatest wonders. The wonderful smell of the trees alone was worth the...More

We attended the Moonlight Dinner Party and were very disappointed. The grounds were all uneven dirt and that's perfectly fine during the day. But we were there at night and the grounds are poorly lit. I tripped (twice) and I saw several others trip as...More

Roaring camp is a cute place to visit. The parking fee is $10 per car. Walking into Roaring Camp across the old bridge kind of feels like you’re stepping back into time. We came just for the train ride but walked around a little. There’s...More

The steam engine ride was fun for the family. It takes you around thru the redwood trees of Bear Mountain. The only con is that the price of the ride is expensive in my opinion. 3 adults and a kid cost $120 for an hr...More

I would suggest catching the train in Santa Cruz to Roaring Camp and then taking the train back. However, I guess it all depends on the number of people in your group. If you take the train, you won't regret it. My son loved... More

I would not recommend it. It is a bumpy ride and a lil crowded. It really just a time to appreciate the amazing beauty of the forest and take it all in. Eating would distract from that and might disrupt the other guests... More
