I'm planning to start multipitch sport climbing and hired Walter for a custom session. We spent the day going over how to transition at belay stations, belaying the lead or the second, and a variety of self rescue techniques. Walter was very accommodating in my request to learn the "quick and dirty" ways to getting out of belay safely (I've taken classes on traditional self rescue techniques and thought those techniques were not very practical during a real emergency ... I wouldn't be able to remember any of elaborate knots I'm supposed to use!). Walter also made recommendations on equipment I should have that would make my climb and belay transitions more efficient. With the new equipment and the more efficient ways to set up anchor (that I learned from Walter), I feel confident conquering some multipitch sport routes!
