Hidden Gem
Mar 2019 • Couples
Wow, this hidden gem right in my backyard was a surprise. I have been wanting to go for a while and finally, it was a beautiful Sunday and we went. We had a ball. Upon arrival we sat up to the little bar in the small tasting room, met Megan and spent a few hours trying the wines, and visiting. She was great, very helpful and extremely friendly. The perfect employee for this business.

We found the wines to be excellent. They were pouring two whites and the rest were their reds. Being red wine drinkers, we thoroughly enjoyed each and every one.

The tasting is $20 for six wines, and Mr. B and I shared the tasting. Once we finished tasting, we had a glass of our favorite. They had a beautiful Sangiovese, my favorite, and Mr. B went with the lovely Malbec.

The bar inside can seat maybe 4, but they have tables with umbrellas outside, and they eventually filled. We could take our glasses and go walk around the property. The winery is located next to Girraci winery. People were laying blankets out in a grass area and enjoying the wines and having a picnic. Just a beautiful spot to enjoy some lovely wines and a picnic lunch.

We will most definitely be back! Cowboy Canyon is a true gem.

This is the only winery we have been to where you can sit out under the trees and drink your wine, and come back in and continue the tasting. The wines were delicious also

Nice Surprise!! GO!
Jun 2016 • Couples
My husband and I visited Cowboy Canyon over the past weekend and we cannot say enough good things about this place! We were looking for wineries close to home for a day visit and Cowboy Canyon was perfect. The location is pretty great as it sharesa compound with the Giracci winery, and is surrounded by Oak trees and other ranches etc.
The tasting room is small, but comfortable and quaint. (There are high tables outside where people can sit and enjoy their wine). We were lucky enough to have one of the owners and winemakers, Mike, to guide us through the list. I think he and his wonderful wife, Donna, were the highlight of trip. In fact, we spent so much time here that we didn't even have a chance to try the winery next door!
We are very open to all wines and have tasted anywhere from New Zealand and Burgundy to North Carolina and Murphy's California- you never know when you might stumble a hidden gem. The wine here is decent and there are definitely some better than others. On that note we did buy a bottle of their Barbera :):)
I think it is definitely worth a visit to Cowboy Canyon and maybe even one of their events.

Best Red Wine in Southern California
May 2015 • Couples
My wife and I love visiting wineries and Travis, our Aussie Shepard, loves to come with us on our expeditions. He does not get any wine and is fine with just watching us and the people around (let's face at wineries the more people drink the more entertaining we get). This little winery is new and right next to the more established Giracci Vineyard in the hills of Orange County. What a great find this place is. The people serving are knowledgeable and personable. During our tasting we were amazed and how much more we learned about the making of wine in general and their wines in particular. Best of all their red wines (their specialty) were absolutely incredible. Clearly the best we have tasted and enjoyed here or in Napa. We became members and go back regularly to re-supply. The atmosphere at this ranch and setting is also a big part of the experience. Fun to just walk around and visit the horses, if you are so inclined. If you are wine lover this is a must go place.
