I don’t think enough people outside the North County area know about this impressive place. Unlike so many, many, MANY arts districts that ultimately disappoint (in the US and Western Europe) with a poor showing of actual, let alone exciting, art and craft this place...More
Came upon this street as we were going to check out the farmers market. Got there before the market opened so had the opportunity to stroll through the shops. Great shops to browse and buy. Not the typical touristy shops that we usually run into.
We stayed within an easy walk to the Cedros Design District. It turned out to be much larger than we expected. Besides the very cool and eclectic collection of shops and small coffee shops/cafes, on Sundays this is the site an excellent farmers market.
Our hotel concierge in La Jolla recommended this as a neat place to shop. Glad we went. The drive up the coast was nice. Cedros Avenue was full of home decor and clothing stores mixed in with some cool coffee shops.
This street is lined with furniture stores, dress shops and galleries and restaurants. It’s a lovely place to window shop and look for unique gifts for friends and family. Parking can be problematic so starting earlier in the day would be a good idea.
A really fun place to spend a few hrs. Sunday afternoons are best, as there is a nice farmers market. It’s a street full of shops, cafes, and just a couple of blocks from the beach and the Amtrak train station is right there.
A block from the beach and a huge variety of places to shop, grab lunch / coffee or just browse and people-watch. A 'must-do' in Solana Beach. The area is currently expanding to include more eateries and parking.
