DOUBLE DOWN!

No more 777, but they still have Double Down Syrah and several other great wines! Been visiting here for over 15 years.

Traveling with my son we stopped in to give it a try. Unlike many of the wineries and tasting rooms in the area, this one has made no upgrades. I'm OK with that, but the wines match the décor, average - needs some work. Wine tasting attendant was friendly enough. There are so many places better than this, I can't... More

I had heard about the place for a number of years now though have never had their wines so my wife and I stopped in. They were pouring probably about 10 wines and I would say at least 8 of them were very good wines. The lady pouring the wines was very fun and interactive. This place has wines for... More

one of the elite wine makers in the area (technically Santa Ynez), this place has amazing chardonnay, pinot noir, and cab/merlot blends a la Bordeaux. was briefly in the movie Sideways so you can check that off your list if so desired. Highly recommended.

The area is very nice with beautiful vineyards surrounding the tasting area. Nice gazebo outside to relax, have picnic and taste wine. Good quality wines and a good amount to taste for the fee. Large and nicely decorated interior.

We had an excellent wine tasting at Blackjack today. Very generous tasting of 10 wines and very friendly lady helping us. Would recommend.

For $12 we tasted over 10 different wines. Some were much better than others but the staff were very friendly and knowledgable. The tasting room was large and we had our own area even though other parties were there as well. I'm glad we went but I think next trip we will try some other places. Worth going to check... More

Blackjack seems to rest on the laurels of being on the movie Sideways. My friend and I, personally, didn't like any of the wines we tasted. There was also a smell that I couldn't handle in the tasting room - had to go outside. The winery itself is really beautiful though. I think this place has such potential. It would... More

Nice tasting room. Very good service, but most of the wines were not to my taste. The Chardonnay Black Cap Reserve for $45 was the best that I tasted. Very good service, which was my primary reason for buying the slightly overpriced wine. The tasting fee was reduced to $8 with the purchase of one bottle. This winery is located... More

I was afraid that Black Jacks presence in Sideways would make it a cheesy place - not so at all. Despite their fame the staff were very knowledgable and provide the most generous tasting I saw of the 8 wineries visited. $12 for 8 pours. I didn't purchase any wine, but had a great time anyway. Highly recommend.
