Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sebastiani winery is an architectural gem giving visitors a taste of Europe and old Sonoma. The wine tasting experience, however, is awful. Our server spoke in whisper with an accent and we could hardly hear her amid the echoes from other tables. She let as much as twenty minutes pass between pouring samples of wine. We had to ask for a dump bucket and water. The water Sebastiani serves is well water and it tasted like dirt. Added to that, we got plastic cups. Unlike most wineries, Sebastiani serves no food. No charcuterie. Not even a a few crackers or bread sticks. Terrible experience in a winery that, years ago, was one of my favorites.

We scheduled a wine tasting and charcuterie board and loved our experience. Our sommelier was amazing! He had a great sense of humor and wonderful service. After tasting he brought us sorbet. The winery is gorgeous with lots of details throughout. Would definitely recommend, especially on a weekday when you can have more personalized service.

Sebastiani was the last winery in our week long trip, and a very nice ending to the trip! The interior was quaint and beautiful and the display of very old and gigantic barrels was really cool! One of the barrels is one of two, the largest in the world, with a capacity of almost 60,000 gallons. The other is in Heidelberg (we've seen that one too!) Our server, Krassi, brought us the wines on our tasting as well as a couple of bonuses. The tasting style was laid-back and relaxed. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time!

We have been to innumerable wine tastings. This was the worst. No acknowledgement of sister property membership. No offer to sit down - just stand at the bar. No offer of a glass of water. No offer of an extra "off list" tasting, which every other place we have been the last few days has done - for the same fee. $50. Unfortunate. Sebastiani is a beautiful, historic property that I first visited 30 years ago. AND they are now closed Tuesday and Wednesday. We had organized a trip around wine tasting reservations, and they called a week ahead and said they weren't open those days - even though all their signs say they are open 7 days. Had to rush to get there late on a Monday. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

My husband and I visited 3 Wineries on 8/20/23 and Sebastiani was the first and best. We were greeted by Frank who gave us a tour and tasting that was above and beyond our expectations.

Frank led us through the cabernet experience with anecdotes and stories for each wine. He was knowledgeable and friendly, and had a true passion for the product.

We highly recommend visiting Sebastiani and working with Frank!

This is just elegant and a great introduction to the Sonoma Wine Country. It was the first winery we visited and our server took lots of time explaining the process and what to expect. It is a beautiful setting with lots of areas for pictures. The wine is smooth and the setting perfectly romantic. We visited it twice we liked it so much.

We had a fantastic wine tasting event at Sebastiani Vineyards and Winery today. Our host, Chris, did an excellent job of explaining the different wines. He made sure each new selection arrived at just the right time. Chris was very knowledgeable and personable. We did our best to convince him that he needs to come snowboarding in the Canadian Rockies.

Be sure to order the Charcuterie Plate for some great munchies including several different types of sausage, crackers, cheese, nuts dried apricots and cranberries.

How we missed this winery prior to this visit mystifies us but we sure are glad we know of it now! Ben took good care of us as we did our tastings - I appreciated they had an all-red tasting as those are my preference. They were so delicious that I joined their wine club and look forward to tasting many more of their fine choices. The place is spacious and clean, and the history very interesting. We had a picnic lunch on one of the tables out front. Highly recommend this stop when you're in the Sonoma area!

This winery is nestled in a neighborhood and was quiet the day we stopped in. We had no reservation, just stopped for a glass of wine and walked around the winery. We enjoyed our wine in their courtyard with a fountain in the center, very relaxing.

We were with some club members, and had a wonderful wine tasting at the delightful tasting room. You could see the tasting room has been around for a while. The aged wood interior was good to see. The tasting was very good with many varieties. Our server did a great job explaining the various wines and where the vineyard it came from was.
