The hike up to the falls is easy, wonderful scenery. If you keep going past the falls, ( with a desolation permit of course ) the trail continues to eagle lake. This climb is a little bit harder but not too bad. about a mile or so in, you'll come across a redwood marker post and a trail that goes... More

I am not a very fit person so was little skeptical about the hike . But the hike was easy and very beautiful . The views were gorgeous . We got a lot of pictures - the views looked straight out of post card.

Eagle Falls trail is worth hiking up to. Accessed behind Vikingsholm, the trail runs along the outflow creek before ascending modestly to the middle falls which cascade in front of you. We were there when water flow was abundant.

The trail is well maintained and the views are spectacular. We went with a 4 and 7 year old and they both handled it beautifully. Unfortunately we visited in October and the waterfall was just a trickle but I'm sure in early spring it would be a site to behold.

I was going crazy reading others' reviews when trying to figure out whether I should do this with my 5-year-old. My kid is no hiking prodigy, but he has done some 2-3 mile hikes with hills near our home, so I was willing to give this a shot. However, words such as "strenuous" and "dangerous" in other reviews almost talked... More

We hiked in a light rain which made the rocky ascent a bit tricky, but the lovely views made it worthwhile. The Rubicon Trail at Bliss State Park was even prettier.

We hiked the Eagle Falls Trail to Eagle Lake, and cannot say enough good things about the overall experience. The trail was meticulously maintained; there was good signage (and some nice historical placards on the loop trail); the old growth forest, with its gigantic Ponderosa Pines, was an unusual and pleasant surprise; the granite crags and glacial debris fields of... Short scenic hike up to a very pretty lake. Arrive early if you want to park anywhere close. We got there at 8.30 and easily found a place on the road. The trail is easy so good for children of any age, it's a steady climb but nothing very strenuous and path is easy to follow. The views at the... More

The hike to the lake is mostly rocky stairs. Beautiful views of Emerald Bay. Parking lot is very small we were forced to park along the highway. If you must do this too be sure to park on the outside. We were told that if you park on the inside along the mountain your car may get hit by falling... More

The hike to Eagle Falls is a pleasant and short hike. There is a decent climb to the falls, and the final ascent to a bridge that hangs over the falls has four switchbacks with stairs. Round-trip to/from the falls to the parking lot can't be more than a 1/2 mile. We all did it in our flip-flops. The falls... More
