Alpine meadows is being converted to a Terrain Park. Intermediate runs are cut off. Skiers are funneled into dangerous convergences. Despite the fact that almost no one uses these parks they are continuing to block off the mountain with them. They are inspired by a...More

Alpine is awesome on a powder day. Be sure to hike beaver bowl. It never disappoints. There are so many stashes that are not on any trail map. You should chat up a local or a liftie to get to the good powder stashes and...More

We stayed in Squaw Valley and had season passes that allowed us to ski at Alpine as well. We can't say how impressed we were with everything. This is not a place to come to if you want the big resort experience (that's what Squaw,...More

Not as crowded as Squaw, great variation in available terrain. The views of Lake Tahoe are superb, and it is far more intimate than Squaw.

We had a wonderful stay - we stayed at a beautifully remodeled condo seconds from the slopes - we walked to the base and took the shuttle back home. We really loved the ability to ski both Alpine and Squaw... but preferred the quiet atmosphere...More

This is our go-to resort in Tahoe since we have two kids who are learning (quickly). Lots of slopes they can go on while honing their skiing skills. It's less crowded than other resorts, as well.

Alpine is our home base...great mountain, friendly staff, low key. People here like to ski, not shop in a village@

Smaller than its neighbor Squaw Valley, but you wouldn't know it when you get there. If its spring hike the Sunrise Bowl. My favs were also Keyhole, waterfall, wolverine bowl and Idiots. Big lines for big line skiers!
