What began as a long-time dream for Brother-in-laws Lawrie Lipton and Mark...

What began as a long-time dream for Brother-in-laws Lawrie Lipton and Mark Manfield, came to fruition with the opening of Lorimar Vineyards and Winery. In fact, the name Lorimar itself was formed by combining Lawrie and Mark's first names.

Lorimar's Old Town location was opened in 2009 while the Wine Country property was under construction. In the spring of 2012 Lorimar Vineyards and Winery celebrated with thousands of local residents and guests for the Grand Opening of our second location, an incredible Tuscan style winery in the heart of Temecula Valley Wine Country. Featuring breathtaking views of Mount Palomar and the Santa Ana Mountains, Lorimar features live music on the sunset patio every weekend all year long. Guests will also enjoy relaxing by the stone fireplace surrounded by a living art gallery, filled with works from many local artists.

At Lorimar we craft wines that are approachable with a fruit forward style that showcases the strengths of Temecula Wine Country. "We create wines using the best of the old world ways combined with today's more advanced technologies, producing delicious varietals and exciting blends," explains co-owner, Lawrie Lipton.

Our Tuscan style winery is showcased amidst adjoining orange groves and our 22 acre estate vineyard. Our first vine plantings were of Cabernet Sauvignon in 2000 followed by Syrah, Grenache, Muscat, Viognier and Sangiovese.

Temecula's wine growing region is unique and special. We are 22 miles away from the ocean which classifies us a Maritime climate. Balanced with warm sunny days and cool nights, the vines flourish and produce excellent fruit in our climate. The soil composition of decomposed granite and clay drains well and is ideal for retaining moisture reserves deep below the surface roots.

Last stop on our wine tour...

I loved ending our tour here. There was a lovely afternoon breeze, great views with a place to actually sit and enjoy it, live folky rock that you could dance to, and a food truck... read more

I think we joined Lorimar mostly for the patio atmosphere with live music bands on weekends. This Saturday was no exception and we bought a bottle of Red along with a few tastings of White to kick back for a couple of hours and enjoy the music. The venue is alot of fun for an early set and the "roach... More

Having a number of wine tasting rooms to choose from in Temecula Old Town, I was so happy I chose this one! Got to taste some of the best wines ever made and was so impressed with the pourer's knowledge of the wines she was serving. Lorimar Winery, you make great wine!

Great Cabernet and loved the music on Sunday afternoon! Any band that plays Stairway to Heaven gets my vote! Nice patio with a food truck. Perfect weather as well. Had a fun time talking with other guests. We will be back.

We kept hearing about Lorimar but had never gone there so while we were on vacation, we thought we'd try it. So glad we did! They had a wide variety of whites and reds. We liked both but must say the reds outdid the whites. The owner / manager was very accommodating - not pushy, let us take our time,... More

Great Malbec and Syrahs here. Enjoyed the beautiful art gallery / tasting room combo. Outdoor area had plenty of shaded seating. It's busy on the weekends, but we still had very attentive and personal service. And big taste pours!

Our nephew had his wedding and reception here. The grounds were beautiful! The food was delicious. The ceremony awesome! The wines were very fine! We really enjoyed our experience at Lorimar! Really don't have any negatives.

This is, in my opinion another on of Top 10 Temecula Vineyards. Great facility and a very good red line. Their flight of red wines was first class. Excellent facility. We enjoyed the people there as well.

I loved ending our tour here. There was a lovely afternoon breeze, great views with a place to actually sit and enjoy it, live folky rock that you could dance to, and a food truck to help soak up all that vino. Did I buy? Not this time, but I'll definitely go back and buy a glass to nurse out... More

Of the many wineries we toured over our 4 days in Temecula, Lorimar was well.. Middle of the road at best. Ali did a solid job. The 13 Slancio Malbec and the 13 Ariosa (Cab) are worthy of mention but we tasted 11 wines and that was it. We were on a trip to purchase and left here empty handed.... More
