We went on the bike tour around the island and it was very hilly, so this was a great place to stop and take a break. My son is an Urban Seeker so he loves to take pictures of abandoned places especially when they have some history associated with them, and this place was perfect. It is embarrassing to read how we treated our fellow Americans during WWII and many people are unaware of our dark past. Worth a stop when you are on the Island.…

Not only is the island a great spot for views, walking, or biking, but it is also loaded with history. You can take a shuttle tour around the island, or do your own tour. There is plenty of information to your own tour

We have visited Fort McDowell - but not in Angel's Camp. Its on Angel Island - which is an island between San Francisco and Tiburon. Fort McDowell and all of Angel island was an important army base during World War II time. Today one can visit the island, see some of the facilities that remain at San Francisco. We like taking the ferry to Angel Island and then walking around the island to see the island and the various views of San Francisco and San Francisco Bay from Angel Island.
