187 reviews
One of the best ways to experience San Francisco’s incredible array of attractions is on two wheels. Embark on your own independent bike tour with this 24-hour bike rental, beginning from either Fisherman’s Wharf or Union Square. Pedal your way to iconic sites such as the ‘Painted Ladies’ of Alamo Square, Golden Gate Park, and the corner of Haight and Ashbury. A provided map and suggested bike routes help you to avoid the city’s notorious hills and get you wherever you’d like to go easily. Take in views of San Francisco Bay along the Embarcadero, bicycle to the Pacific Ocean or even cross the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and return via ferry. The choice is yours.

We went on the bike tour around the island and it was very hilly, so this was a great place to stop and take a break. My son is an Urban Seeker so he loves to take pictures of abandoned places especially when they have some history associated with them, and this place was perfect. It is embarrassing to read how we treated our fellow Americans during WWII and many people are unaware of our dark past. Worth a stop when you are on the Island.

Not only is the island a great spot for views, walking, or biking, but it is also loaded with history. You can take a shuttle tour around the island, or do your own tour. There is plenty of information to your own tour

We have visited Fort McDowell - but not in Angel's Camp. Its on Angel Island - which is an island between San Francisco and Tiburon. Fort McDowell and all of Angel island was an important army base during World War II time. Today one can visit the island, see some of the facilities that remain at San Francisco. We like taking the ferry to Angel Island and then walking around the island to see the island and the various views of San Francisco and San Francisco Bay from Angel Island. (Note: The current listing that it is in Angel's Camp is in error). There is also a Fort McDowell in Arizona.
