We loved seeing the model railroad and other exhibits at the Railroad and Ferry Depot Museum, This is a historic building with good views of the bay.

We decided to visit on our return from a great Island trip but return journeys were too far apart for us all to make it. We have passed it so many times in past visits to Tiburon we promise not to miss it on our next trip. When all is said and done we only live on the English East Coast!!…

If you are a train buff, get yourself to the Tiburon Railroad & Ferry Depot Museum. There is a scale model of Tiburon with a working model train -- if you are nive they run it for you. Cool bit of history in motion.

Great little museum. Very interesting museum and showing what Tiburon was like at the turn-of-the-century. Make sure you visit upstairs to see where the conductor of the railroad lived with his, family, very interesting.

We love history and to explore the past of places we visit! This FREE little museum is such a treasure!! If you are lucky enough you will go when there is a docent volunteer who knows some of the stories that made up this huge railroad town and shipping yard over 100 years ago. There is a large layout of the town the way it used to be. Amazing to see it and all the pictures of the busy town and shipping port this used to be. Also have films to watch...love that stuff!! Some artifacts from the period also. BUT a treasure of a find there was the book "Blackie" I purchased portraying the true story of the horse that lived there.. beautifully illustrated by Paige Peterson who knew the horse as a girl. Blackie's bronze statue is seen standing in his original pasture as you enter Tiburon. A timeless treasure to read to my grandchildren!…
