The botanic gardens are open most of the year, and is a nice site for a walk. Easily accessible. There are many mature acer trees, with great autumn colour.

Despite the drought, there were still some beautiful plants on display and the history of the gardens are very interesting. Plenty to see as you walk round with separate areas of planting and sculpture as well.

Only four gardeners keep this garden but it is a wonderful garden with most plants labelled. Hot weather so some areas had suffered.

Yes there were no restrictions that we noticed - we certainly took loads of lovely photos of the gardens and the houses within them.
