Very professionally run establishment that follows safety protocols to the eightth degree all the while giving the rider useful information and having fun. Riding in a glider is like siting in a rocking chair at 8k feet. The pilot (Garrett) is a pleasant and thoroughly professional pilot explaining every maneuver before it happens ,so there is no anxiety

This is one of those once in a life time experience. Even though, I enjoyed it so much that I might just start taking classes. Safe, peaceful, amazing view from the Californian desert and on top of it all, you get to actually fly the glider! Looking forward to doing it again.

Soaring conditions and scenery here is well worth the drive which is beautiful too. Not at all scary and the Willats are long time operators and experts. People come here from all over the world for sky sailing. Warner Springs Ranch Resort Grill nearby is open for breakfast, lunch or an early dinner.

Some time ago, I gave my wife a gift card from Sky Sailing for her Birthday. So, I am writing this from what she told me. She thought this was a thrill of a lifetime---great pilot and really saw the area----from Palomar Mountain Observatory then to the East over Lookout Mountain where you can see the Desert. What was really... More

I came to Sky Sailing to learn how to fly gliders, and have had a very good experience. My instructor, Garret, is a champion glider pilot, and an excellent teacher. Everyone at this family run business is very professional and safety conscious. I got my private glider pilot license after 9 months of instruction and solo flights. The soaring at... More

I am a single engine land pilot on a business trip to San Diego. I drove the 90 minutes from San Diego to check out the glider port and spent the day watching the sailplanes. ...It was a very nice day. I decided to take my first sailplane ride and will definitely be doing it again the next time in... More

I'll start with the hard truth before I go into HOW AMAZING this was. SO - you have to be comfortable with TIGHT spaces. If you ride it alone (+ pilot), you might be ok, but my cousin and I rode together and we're about 125lb. each and it was TIGHT. I personally struggle with closed spaces, but I still... More

Marilyn, We are glad you had a great time. The gliders can be a little tight but it's well worth the view. Thank you for your honest and great review of our little hidden gem in the Mountains of San Diego. More

We booked a flight as a bucket list item to celebrate our first wedding. Anniversary. We are so glad we did. Our pilot was fun and very knowledgable of the area and told us all about the areas we were flying over. He told us lots of things about how the glider works and ways to gain height etc. We... More

If you like to flight and not afraid to highs definitely this is one thing you have to do! It was the best experience in the world so exciting and amazing, we took the acrobatic ride and our pilot was so amazing and professional, the staff on the place is really nice and all together made one of the best... We are glad you had great time doing the aerobatics! We joke that aerobatics in a glider is like a roller coaster with out the car wreck feeling. Please tell your friends about us. More

I came here because I was treated unfairly at Soaring Academy in Llano. I found this place to be happy, fun, and with many experienced instructors who are quite knowledgeable. I found after getting my license, Soaring Academy was rude, picky, found issues, and generally became not fun, (because I was now just a renter). I eventually left and came... More
