We visited the Surly Goat around midnight on a Thursday. It was way better than expected. Beer selection was on point, which was the reason for the visit. Karaoke was in full swing at the quality you'd expect for a beer bar in Hollywood. A drunk 20-something girl cornered my wife to tell her all about another Asian girl she... More

Stopped here to enjoy some California brewed craft beer and we weren't disappointed. Great selections of craft beers (they were pouring Pliny the elder when we were there). Great bar scene for the young and hip

The beer is awesome! Lots of excellent choices, you won't regret this place. The front seems not inviting but the inside is really nice. If you are going for one beer, you'll have to pay cash, otherwise you'll have to start a tap till you hit 15$to pay with a credit card.

Surly Goat is very unassuming from the outside and has a lot of space inside. Many beers on tap, all are interesting, Trivia on Mondays is fun.

I went to the Surly Goat on a Thursday night for Pliny the Elder on draft. Their draft list isn't long, but they've got sampler sizes for $1-2 a piece - It's plenty if you're not from the West Coast like me...I hadn't had most of the options there. I walked out feeling no pain! But anyway, I found it... More

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
