About
V Marketplace is the original icon of specialty retail in northern California's wine country. One of the first wineries in the Napa Valley, Groezinger Winery was built in 1870 and continued operating as a winery until 1955. This lovely old brick building was destined to be sold and torn down for the price of its bricks, but a small group of visionaries purchased it and lovingly restored the building and it now houses specialty shops, art galleries and three restaurants including Emmy-award winning Chef Michael Chiarello's fabulous and much touted rustic farm-to-table Italian cuisine restaurant Bottega. NapaStyle offers a wine tasting bar and V Wine Cellar is one of the most complete wine cellars of the Napa Valley. V Wine Cellar offers an inviting wine environment that will please novices and aficionados alike with a choice of a wine bar or a cozy lounge where guests can savor and experience the world of wine with expert advice from a knowledgeable staff. V Marketplace is home to Napa Valley's original hot air balloon company which launches daily, weather permitting from the property. V Marketplace is Napa Valley's most beautiful and inviting specialty retail complex located in the world renowned epicurean hamlet of Yountville, surrounded by lush picnic gardens, beautiful water features and meandering cobblestone, special events and entertainment are scheduled year round.

COVID must have taken a toll. The upstairs was empty except for one little shop. The downstairs has a wonderful art store and we did by some pictures. There’s a chocolate shop that wasn’t open when we were there. The grounds were nice and parking plentiful. Just not much happening here right now.

This place has it all! Spent the day here and ate and shopped ourselves to content- great brunch at Pacific Blues, GREAT coffee at the caboose, award winning chocolates at Kollars, great shopping on the second level of the VMarketplace (formerly Vintage 1870) late lunch at Hurley's and an evening cigar (Romeo y julieta) from the great wine shop; V Wine Cellar we walked everywhere and enjoyed the quaint feel of this town in the heart of the Napa Valley!

Whenever I have people visiting from out of town, V Marketplace is one of the places I always take them to. There are lots of shops to visit and great food to taste, whether it's at a nearby restaurant or at the chocolate shop in the main building. I love to play tourist and come here.

Highly disappointed this is even listed as an “attraction”. The “shops” amount to about 4 in total. Half the shop space was empty. A local told us the landlord is converting this building into a group events center or something. Whatever the deal is, if you plan to visit you’ll only need about 20 minutes to see and shop everything there.

Nice property but only two stores in the marketplace to visit. The surrounding area is beautiful, plenty of free parking but limited open restaurants on a Wednesday afternoon

Great place for wine, different snacks, and artistic/casual atmosphere. Friendly staff as well. We got local red wine, and a plate of great quality snacks. There are many snack bars and shops inside, you can also taste some of the staff they sell. The mustard with truffles was fantastic.

Yountville is the first town of any size that you encounter on your drive up the Napa Valley and the V-Marketplace is a good place to begin your tour. Owned by Michael Chiarello, it has parking to the side, or you can park on the street and walk over.
As you might expect, this is a nice boutique mall with wine, art galleries, chocolate shop, restaurant and children’s clothing for grandma. Very laid back, no pressure, easy wandering and prices are reasonable. Can spend an hour and not break the bank. Looked like it would be a very nice place to eat, but we were there prior to lunch.

The V Marketplace is an eclectic mix of shops, some quite unique! For myself, found Domaine Home & Garden to have one of the nicest selections of wine related (and other things) items & gifts; V Wine Cellar had a nice selection of local wineries; Kollar chocolates were very good; and several very nice art galleries! Didn’t get chance to try Michael Chiarello’s place this trip but it looked good.
Not sure why other reviewers rate this place as ‘average/nothing special’, but I found it anything but – more then a few shops had things I liked (and bought), and frankly am not that easy to please!
Definitely worth a visit if you’re already in town, need a gift, snack, dessert, something to drink now or later.

It's quite a fascinating place to visit. The old brick structure has a host of stalls inside more in the fashion of up-market boutiques, artist studios, gourmet foods, wine tastings and fine dining. One can walk through marveling at the different kinds of goods on display and pick up something that might catch one's fancy. There is the lovely shop-Montecristi Panama hats and the colourful North Bay Gallery. My personal favourite- Kollar Chocolates! And there's a charming garden too....
