Due to poor planning, I didn't have long hike here but I'm glad that I was able to at least walk a shorter trail. The views were beautiful. This is a very popular hiking area but it did not seem overly crowded once on the trails.

We LOVE Chautauqua! Visiting friends love to hear its history (and that of the whole chautauqua circuit!), the restaurant is great (esp. when the day is nice enough to sit out on the porch!), fantastic walks of any length and variety,

It is a butt buster with lots of stone stairs but the from the arch is worth it. Bring walking sticks to help. We didn't need hiking boots or microsomes. There were plenty of people w just tennies doing fine.

Charming, historic venue with surprisingly good food. Can't beat it for a before-concert dinner at Chautauqua. Can't beat the view of the Flatirons either! A must-do for visitors but a frequent-return venue for locals, too.

This park has many trails and so much to offer in views. As you walk you can see the town of Boulder, look at beautiful mountain views, beautiful homes and of course flowers in bloom in spring and summer.

When I'm Boulder you must hike in the Chautauqua area. It's so beautiful and if you chose a trail at the right altitude the views are awesome ;)

The nice thing about this particular area is that it is an easy climb. You don't need equipment, and you don't have to have a permit (at least not where we were). It's a steep hike, and you have to remember that the air will only become even thinner as you climb, so it can take a toll on your... More

A bit worried not at first however home improves after a 1/2 mile so don't give up. The trail is heavily used so don't be surprised by a lot of people. Parking can be tough. Construct currently ongoing on baseline road so a bit if s delay. Overall good experience.

As a resident climber I have spent hundreds of days in Chautauqua and enjoy it immensely. Overall the trail system is not the easiest but there are places for all levels of hikers to enjoy. Because of the traffic on weekends and holidays I emplore you to also respect the place. There are two major things I would like to... More

Awesome views, and some terrain for just about anyone to hike, this historic site is really nice. Another great destination for those out of town guests. Parking is easier during the week-it is quite popular and gets crowded on weekends.
