Trails for hiking, mountain biking, running in one of the most beautiful areas along the eastern range foothills of Colorado. Some trails are open to pets. No motorized vehicles! The scenery is spectacular. Great for birding and wildlife viewing. Boulder and Boulder County have bought 1000s of acres around Boulder Colorado. The blue line law limits development along the flatirons... More

We hiked to the Royal Arch in 65 F degree weather in December. Hike was very interesting and provided some exercise. We logged 110 flights of stairs and was worth every step along the way. Next time we would take ice picks for our boots.

We decided to road trip to Boulder with our Grandson and our wanted to see the park. No intentions of hiking but we grabbed the stroller and went for it! Even with the wind and snow melting it was gorgeous short hike!

This hike is a steady uphill climb with commanding views of the area - be prepared for a constant workout. We hiked all the way to the top so that we could see down the other side, which I would recommend if you have the stamina. Talk with the park ranger at the visitor center for a map and the... More

We hiked to peak. We are not professional climbers or hikers. Our family of 5, including a 7th grader hiked without hiking boots or climbing shoes. Going to the peak essentially includes a lot of stair climbing. Be sure to go on opposite side for view of snow cap mountains. You feel like your hike has ended at peak. However,... More

We took a dog on a hike through the flatirons. It was challenging for this fit city girl, but a picturesque and rewarding experience. We did make it up to the Royal Arch, which was crowded, but good for a quick photo and felt like an accomplishment. Beware of the unpredictable Colorado weather, a severe thundrestorm rolled in right as... More

I went for a business trip in Boulder and I spent my last day in Flatirons for some hiking. There are many paths and you can easily spent a day there. It is a beautiful place and relaxing. Make sure you have good hiking shoes because some parts can be difficult on normal shoes. I had breakfast on the restaurant... More
