Well done! This pioneer be museum has many buildings and tells the story of settling eastern Colorado. A saddlery, newspaper office, church, drug store, barber shop, school and manor house to name a few. And there's more! Costumes, tractors and carriages also.

Very nice place and a welcome surprise. Highly recommended. The exhibits are authentic as are the outbuildings which were brought in from all around the area. There is even a real sodhouse to look at and see how life was back in the land rush times.

We were in Burlington, Colorado and had some time on our hands on a Friday. We had heard about the museum and didn’t expect very much. We were stunned by the size of the place and the effort put into it. 22 buildings are located here, many of them vintage from the late 1880s. I think we spent two plus hours here wandering through the place. Highlights for us included the barn, the Manor, the dollhouse, the church, the school house, the saloon, and Heritage Hall with an impressive collection of tractors, cars, and various vintage memorabilia from the area.

We loved the Old Town Museum, which features actual restored buildings from Burlington and surrounding towns. The interiors contain original decorations and era appropriate antiques well worth the visit. Unfortunately, probably due to Covid, there were no curators around to answer questions about the displays. A quarter of the recorded messages in most of the buildings were inoperative. But we enjoyed the sense of walking through an early 19th Century town.

My husband and I stopped our RV for water and a quick dog walk in the parking lot of the Old Town Museum in Burlington, Colorado on July 15. I checked out the museum while he waited in the RV only to discover that they offered a free admission to my husband and I because we were both retired USAF. The docent/manager allowed us to bring our Goldendoodle in too! Lovely museum and very large. It has inside and outside exhibits. We only toured the inside because of the dog and a need to get on the road. But we spent an hour there. Lots of exhibits of old quilts, and items from the earlier way of life in the 20th century. There was a large military section honoring the military members from Burlington and an especially good exhibit of Mike Lounge, Burlington’s first astronaut in space. The hospitality was great and very welcoming. This is a not miss museum if you are passing this way out of Colorado and into Kansas. Highly recommend.
