Exhibit uses casts of fossils, not actual fossils. Its two rooms of fossils, probably a total of 15 dinosaurs, a large gift shop, and a couple of outdoor activities. The animatronic dinosaurs leave much to be desired, but perhaps that is because I am used to the superior ones at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City. The paleontology lab was locked and it doesn't look like its an interactive exhibit, just something you look at through a window, but maybe that's not the case? Certainly seemed like it. My kids 8 and 3 thought it was okay, but definitely lackluster and not as cool as I was hoping. It was over $100 for four of us (and the youngest was free!). I most certainly felt they put more emphasis and energy into the gift shop than the exhibits or experience. I'd probably skip this one.

The military discount was not what you would expect. It was only given to the one individual that had a dependent military ID card on them at the time (we were on vacation), so we got a $1 discount on a large family. We spoke with the manager and that is their policy, even if the active duty member does not have their military ID on them or if their dependent children are too young to have a military ID. Some of the animatronics worked, others did not and they were not that impressive. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Very informative exhibits. Interesting guides in the museum. You learn a lot about the hundreds of millions of years of history that formed the earth and the changes from the various time periods. Great exhibits. The outdoor walkthrough was nice as well as you get to see nice replicas of dinosaurs. Rope walk was used by many. Well worth the time. Reasonable costs too. My only suggestion is to add a musical from the 50's and 60's, starring the famous singer "DinahShoreus". Sorry about the last part, I could not resist the pun.

We went for my daughter's 9th birthday, with our 3 yo, dad and grandma. We all really enjoyed ourselves!
We arrived about 2.5 hours before they closed, thinking we'd be good, but felt rushed. I'd definitely recommend at least 3 hours.
Our museum guide was the real live Alexa 😊and she was WONDERFUL! Her knowledge really enhanced the experience. The Wild Walk was cool, that part was the quickest, but the kids thought it was pretty awesome. The ropes course was also fun (and a bit scary!), but the 9 yo rocked it. The little kids one was also cool and I appreciated being able to all have the activity. Really nice gift shop also. We'll have to go back though, as that's where we ran out of time.
Overall, we were all really impressed and recommend this place! Lot's of cool Colorado history and especially cool if you've got a dino enthusiast!

Have the floor manager Becky tell the truth. Took my granddaughter on Monday the 3rd. Went out on the Wild Walk. The Dinosaurs were not turned on so they were not making noise. Went inside afterwards and the floor manager said they were on. I could see the sensors to make them "Come to life." She said she would let someone know. We went out to the dig pit and they were on.
Went back into the gift shop to make a purchase. Becky said they were already when we went out. No they weren't. Was not offered a discount. Did not ask for one. I don't deal with liars.

Alexa was a tour guide for the museum and she was INCREDIBLE. We initially went to take my son we were not expecting a tour but I’m so glad we got one. Alexa was so knowledgeable and passionate about her job- we learned so much from her! This museum is great for children and adults. 💯 worth it

We visited this location last year and it was a pretty neat experience. So we decided to visit it again. This time we just did the outside walk. I knew it was pricey but whatever kids like it. But the T-Rex was burned down, but still had the wireframe up. My son was very disappointed in not see T-Rex. And then the on the walk the Brontosaurs didn't move, make any sounds nothing. Some of the sensors didn't work on the others and the audio quality was very poor. I hope that this place makes some major improvements.

Feel free to stop before / after visiting the Royal Gorge bridge.
Admision is "too expensive" for what you will see inside. If you are a "die hard dinosaur aficionado", this place may be for you.
Interesting albeit small exhibits. Free parking.

We drove there from Summit county, 2hrs. The drive was nice and the route we took we hardly seen another car for most of it.
As for the museum it was just average. The skeletons etc were quite interesting but the dinosaur park outside wasn't really worth the extra cost. It did look very fake.
Was it worth the drive and time? Yes. But wouldn't want to make a point of going back.

Interesting place but definitely not for teens or adults. My son is 12 and he was pretty bored within 30 minutes. I saw a lot of younger kids who were having a good time and enjoying the children attractions (not the museum so much) If you have young ones (under 10) I would say it may be worth the money. The ladies in the museum were very nice and informative but most of the information was available on the signs and exhibits.

After reading reviews, it seems many dinosaurs and some ropes were not working properly...are they now fully operational? Thanks.
Written 15 July 2019
On the rope tower every thing was working. The “Wild Walk “ all the dinosaurs have motion sensors so if you don’t move toward them, they don’t move. If you have kids 12 or younger they will love it.

Sorry, I'm just now seeing this. The Dinosaur Experience is open Thursday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, probably until Memorial Day weekend. Then they'll most likely be open every day with extended hours. They're closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Easter.

We have a tight time schedule. Can you pay for a single outdoor adventure and still get into the gift shop? Or do you have to pay general admission to check out the gift shop?
Written 26 March 2017
We paid to see the dinosaurs outside and had access to the gift shop. You do not need to pay for the museum or ropes courses if you just want to see the dinosaurs. The walking tour is great and takes as much time as you want to give it and then you leave through the gift shop. Great marketing! Our 5 year old grandson was overwhelmed by the dinosaurs.
