Skyline drive is a one-way street on the top of a hogback. When it's open, there is no price for admission, and the opportunity to view dinosaur tracks on the bottom side of upthrust rocks is neat. But the views of the Arkansas River valley and the Wet Mountains are unmatched. Enter just about two miles west of the old... More

It has been several years but it seems like yesterday. It was late July and we were heading back up to Manitou Springs and decided to take the Skyline Drive route into Canon CIty. We had left Royal Gorge just as a major thunderstorm struck the area, stoppping the gondola ride and chasing people off the bridge and headed east,... More

Fabulous views from the drive; many places to pull off and explore. At times there are straight-down views from the road. Many "flat landers" are holding onto the car for deal life! Really well-worth making the drive.

This is one of my favorite spots to drive. The up and down roads makes the drive feel like a roller-coaster. Being so high above the city, the view is stunning. Especially at night. They close the roads during bad weather though, which is good because it's a bit of a climb to get up there. And what goes up,... More

Folks from outside Colorado might think we are crazy. An annual race goes up Pikes Peak highway each summer, a drive with no guard rails that is open to the public for half the year. Trail Ridge road in Rocky Mountain National Park goes above the tree line. The road to Independence pass will give the flatlaners white knuckles. Ditto... More

It's our "Go to place" for a breathtaking view and to put a bit of fear in to the chickens.......whether on a motorcycle or in a car, it's an awesome view! Plan to take a lot of pictures and a quick stop at select points to take in the grand view.

This is a must if you visit Canon City. Amazing views on both sides. Its a one-lane road that starts on the northern side. There are plenty of pull-offs so you can stop and take photos or read about the history. We had people who were afraid of heights and they didn't have any problems on this road.

This can be scary for anyone. Driving up on a cliff with no barriers. This is one way and the scenery is beautiful. You can see all of Canon City.

We ride from cripple creek to Pueblo and then up the skyline drive. You can see for miles and the road is short over the hillside but twisty Bring your scooter and have fun with a view !
