    Lots to Do!
We got there at 10 am on a Saturday. It wasn’t busy. I think that is why we had so much fun! We rode the gondola over and zip lined back. Then we walked across the bridge. You can watch the white water rafters below! There is a great area for young children to climb and play. A theatre shows a 17 minute movie. We saw big horn sheep and goats roaming. We hiked up the hill to take the gondola back across. When we left, it was very busy! They have an app you can use to see wait times and get park information.
Thank you for visiting. I like going at 10 am also. Seems less busy. We hope you can bring your family back again. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review.

    Beautiful views!
Unique outing! The views were stunning and the gondola ride was fun! The park itself was a little cheesy. We missed out getting to do the movie (in the theater) due to time. Wish we had gotten to do it. A bit overpriced, though, but glad we did it. Be prepared to walk a lot!
Thank you for your visit to Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. We hope you can come back again and visit Plaza Theater. Besides the historical video and artifacts, we have the Birds of Prey Show. This show is an interactive presentation with raptors flying about. It is a lot of fun.

SPECTACULAR VIEW - VERY ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE
We spent the night in Canon City and was able to arrive at Royal Gorge Bridge and Park Just as it was opening for the Day. We quickly purchased our tickets and proceeded to walk across the Bridge. Seeing and hearing the river almost 1,000 feet below was amazing. As you walk across the bridge each states flag is displayed and I had to stop and get a picture with the Virginia Flag (my home state). The views from the bridge are spectacular and in almost every direction. As we approached the south side of the bridge, we saw a several big horn sheep scampering around on the rock. Our ticket included a gondola ride across the gorge which afforded us a spectacular view of the Bridge and gorge. Because we arrived early there were no lines and we were able to enjoy the Bridge and the other attractions at our leisure. Several people in our group did the Sky coaster and the zip line and said it was totally amazing. All the employees that we encountered were polite, Professional and went out of their way to be helpful. Like most attractions the concessions prices are inflated. $3.00 for a Bottle of water is high but is in line with most other attractions. All total we spent almost two hours here and had a most enjoyable experience.
Thank you for your visit. We agree, it is an amazing experience. We hope you can visit again and bring your own water and a picnic lunch next time. We have many cozy sites with spectacular views.

    Fun, Scenic, but Expensive!
The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park is a great half day adventure if you are in the Colorado Springs/ Canon City area. Just beware that they charge admission and then charge for the bigger activities as well. We rode the Gondolas a couple times and then did the Zip Line, which was a complete rush!! They ensure that each rider is an acceptable weight and is harnessed in completely. We also walked around the rest of the park, walked across the bridge to take in the views and headed out. I'd give yourself about 3 hours here to check everything out.
Thank you for your great advice. The general admission ticket includes the gondola, the bridge, Tommy Knockers Playland and Splashpad. Also, the Plaza Theater with a historical video about the area, artifacts, snack bar and the interactive Birds of Prey Show. The Natures Educators bring their raptors and discuss their habitats, diets, and why they can not live in the wild. We hope you can come visit us again and ride the highest Zipline in America.

We did the 2 hour Jeep tour and it was so the best-especially because of our tour guide “Smokey”! He is the best! I HIGHLY recommend that you do the tour request him and if you have to wait for him I promise it will be worth it, he made the whole experience completely amazing!! He is so fun and down to earth!!!! Attached is a picture of my family with Smokey
We do not offer Jeep Tour's but we are glad you had a great time!!!

Rode the tram over the gorge and then walked over the bridge. The wind was really strong that day and you could actually feel the bridge moving a little. Love the site in the center of the bridge when I looked over and saw the Arkansas River and train below. Awesome. Also watched the movie and the wild bird show. Movie was ok - didn’t care for the cartoon character but REALLY enjoy the bird show. Devin was great and very informative.

    Extraordinary views and experience
The views are amazing. It is a unique experience.I went for the general admission which give access to gandola, plaza theatre and kids play area and music theatre. One need to pay extra for zip lining, other adventure stuff.

Worth the walk across the bridge
The bridge was worth the walk. Wonderful views of the gorge. The gondola ring was easy with great views. The film was worth seeing. My only complaint was the uphill/downhill walking to get around to seeing everything

Check wind speed!! Go early for discount! Watch the short video in the theater.
Check the wind speed before you go. If with wind is ~30 MPH, the gondola will not be running. Call ahead to confirm if this is a requirement for you. As a few others have noted, although it is not posted on the website/app, you will receive a nice discount if you purchase your tickets before 10am. I believe it was $21 (vs $30) per adult, with a similar discount for other categories. The theater on the other side of the bridge has a 17 minute video. The video had a high production quality, and was pretty entertaining for all ages. There are some newspaper clippings and other artifacts in the room, so go a few minutes early to check these out. We went early on a weekday, so there were no wait or a short wait for the gondola. I could definitely see how this would not be the case during the high season or weekends however. Overall I was skeptical of the value given the ticket price, but the overall experience was excellent and I would highly recommend. The included gondola rides were great, and we spent over an hour playing in the playground.

Try to go early as it is expensive
The bridge itself is very cool and quite the engineering marvel. It was the highest suspension bridge in the world until recently. It takes about 20 minutes to cross it. On the other side is a movie theater, restaurant and carousel. When we were there, it was too windy for the gondolas. The place is well done, but if the gondolas aren’t running, the price is too steep for what you get and I would skip it. The film was made to entertain children but was a bit distracting for adults. The staff was very nice.

We were there with our four kids and we had a blast. The view is breathtaking and the park is well organized. The entrance fee is a bit pricey but it includes all kind of stuff which makes it better.
The Gondola ride is amazing but it is wind permitted, so if you see it's working, go do it so u won't miss it if it shuts down ( our shut down for two hours). Same thing with the Zipline above the Canyon. We missed it since we did not do it right away. I would recommend doing the Gondola first and then walk back on the bridge if you don't want to do the zipline ( it is weight and hight restricted).
We didn't know at the beginning, but we found out by mistake that there was a live birds show at the Theatre so, I would ask at the entrance what is going on in the theatre the day you are there.
Have Fun!

The Gorge is really cool, but the place isn't that well run. We pre-bought our tickets at home, which included the Gondola ride. When you get there, you still have to wait in line with all of the other people who are buying their tickets. Then we discovered that although the park 'closes' at 7p, that the Gondola usually stops at 2P most days, if not sooner because it is too windy to operate. Clearly a safety issue, so can't blame them for not running it, but maybe they should split their pricing so that you get a discount if you cannot ride the Gondola, since that is a key attraction. Couldn't do the zip lines either for the same reason. At least we didn't make the mistake of buying those online. We made the best of it and wandered around across the bridge to the play area. Kids tried going on the carousel, but were were told that it was also closed due to the winds. That one didn't make much sense to me. The woman working at the beer garden near the play area was friendly. The beer garden closes at 530p and it seemed like many of the refreshment stands did as well. If you're going to go, I would recommend getting there early and checking the wind forecast to make sure that its below double digits.

Thank you for your interest in the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park. Weather is not always our friend as our ride attractions are weather dependent. It is our goal to let all our visitors know the conditions and keep them informed during their time in the park. Our zip line is designed in a way in which the rider is self-propelled on a trolley and secured in a harness. During the first half of the ride, there is a downward sloping of the cable to help bring the rider to speeds of up to 40 mph. After reaching the middle of the gorge, the cables begin to level off slowing the rider down to speeds between 15 and 28 mph. It is because of this that Rider weight and wind speed is so important. The Rider will hit what is called a spring stack at the conclusion of their ride, at a speed no faster than 30 mph. The spring stack is comprised of 40 springs that are specially setup to absorb all of the impact from the rider. We operate under very stringent guidelines and keep safety our primary concern. It can be necessary to temporarily close our rides due to weather. It is not possible for staff to know when the weather will change and the ride will reopen. We are monitored by weather sensors and once the winds hit a certain speed, we are required to shut down the Gondola, ZipLine, Skycoaster, and Carousel for the safety of our guests. Most times it's a temporary closure but this can affect wait times for these rides as well. We trust you enjoyed the main attraction, America’s highest suspension bridge, the historical displays and video at the theater, as well as the musical entertainment at the amphitheater. A beautiful location I remembered from my childhood. Was excited to take my family this summer and was sad to find that you had to pay a LARGE price per person to even walk over the bridge!! I assumed the price was for the gondola/zip line and that you could at least walk over the bridge for a minimal price. Nope. Large price does includes the gondola ride, which was very cool. Lines were very long. Zip line costs extra. And if the weather is bad or too windy the gondola and zip line won't be running. Sad that this beautiful spot has been commercialized so much. So many beautiful sites in CO...can't recommend this one only due to the price. Ridiculous. Spend your time and WAY LESS money elsewhere.

Hello, Thank you for posting a review about your experience; we're sorry to hear you were disappointed with our pricing. The $29 ticket ($27 if you buy online) includes the aerial gondola ride, children's play land, plaza theater and added entertainment. We do offer a discounted bridge only rate in the morning and at the end of the day and post all of our pricing on our website so guests know in advance what the admission rate is and what is included with each ticket option. Due to our location and lack of city amenities, our operating expenses are similar to that of a small town. Many guests do not know that we have our own water treatment plant in order to have potable water in the park. We do try to keep our prices in line with similar attractions, despite these added costs. While the view from the parking lot viewing deck and from just outside our park on the trails is fantastic, it isn't quite the same as actually being in the park and on the bridge. Way too expensive. Visited years ago and enjoyed it, but now it's just crazy expensive to get in. When you're talking about a family and doing extra attractions, it's just not worth it. Could not justify the money. It's cheaper to drive up Pikes Peak Highway or go to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo - things you would spend more time at.

Hello Laurie, Thank you for your review. The Royal Gorge Bridge is an engineering marvel that was built specifically to be a tourist attraction where guests can take in 360 degrees of the beautiful outdoors. We have priced our tickets to be comparable to other similar attractions and have included additional attractions such as the Aerial Gondolas, Children's Playland, and Plaza Theater. Our prices are posted on our website so guests can know in advance what the admission fee is prior their arrival. In addition to a free overlook in our parking lot, where guests have a beautiful vantage point of the bridge and the gorge, there are also some amazing trails that wind near the edges of the gorge for outstanding viewpoints. Safe travels! Dona Royal Gorge Bridge & Park

Not as advertised. We were lured in with trail reviews stating "spectacular" and "epic" views. However, what we found was not worth wasting our phone batteries on taking pictures. This trail did not follow a "rim". It felt like like we were walking more inland than anything else. The best part of this trail was that we did not encounter any other hikers. If you really want to view the gorge, you will have to pay a steep $28/person to walk across the bridge, which we did not do. If you are trying to see the Gorge without paying to walk across it, google image search will suffice. If you want a hike with no shade cover and views of cacti, rocks, and juniper this is your trail. The overall feeling of this trail was "meh".

Hello Natalia, We're sorry to hear you didn't find value in the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park admission ticket. We have priced our tickets to be comparable to other similar attractions and have included additional attractions such as the Aerial Gondolas, Children's Playland, and Plaza Theater. For those who don't wish to pay the admission fee, we do suggest the surrounding trails and picnic areas as they do take guests to the edge of the gorge for views of the river below, gorge, and bridge. We hope the rest of your travels are wonderful! Dona Royal Gorge Bridge & Park

The walk across the bridge is worth the visit alone. We arrived early to beat the crowds and glad we did. It was a fairly windy day so unfortunately the gondola and ziplines were closed for safety matters however we took our time strolling across the bridge viewing the deep gorge, the Arkansas River with the surrounding mountains from both sides of the bridge. If you look at the distant hills, you can see the scorched hilltops where the wild fire from about eight years ago burned many thousands of aces around the Royal Gorge Park; unfortunately the cogwheel train that used to take you down in the gorge was destroyed by the fire. We had great view from many different vantage points however any distant landscape pictures you would take would turn out hazy due to the multiple wild fires in California and Oregon. We were disappointed that there was no food available after walking across the bridge; we did have lunch when we returned back over the bridge in the main visitors center; we found out that they are short staffed and couldn't staff the other restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and definitely would come again. The entry price seems a bit high as we only walked across the bridge; we would rather have the amenities individually priced (ziplines and some other activities do have a separate charge). Enjoy your visit!

So glad you stopped by! It is a beautiful place in CO and we love to share it with guests. This property was gifted to the city of Canon City by the Federal government in 1906 and it has been a business with paid admission since 1929 when the bridge was built. Thank you for visiting our little slice of Colorado's scenic wonders. We hope all your travels are amazing!! Julie Royal Gorge Bridge & Park

Other than being quite expensive, the various amenities are fun and exciting. Water is $4/bottle and you'll need it but the staff doesn't seem to promote it (there is no alternative hydration unless you bring it). There is absolutely not seating for the tired on the 1/4 mile bridge and extremely limited seating traveling up the hill to the other activities. The "map" guide they give you is a joke deceiving you as to the walk ahead. The signage along the way is non-existant untill you finally arrive. There are no rental carts provided to transport elderly that can't walk the 1.5 mile round trip. If you go in April non of the consessions are open to you along the route. I live in the area but will never go again and take my grand children because the trip is too difficult. This will cost RG around $600 just because they choose not to cater to the elderly.

We’re sorry to hear that you had difficulty navigating the park during your visit. Being an outdoor park with a 300 foot elevation change can be a challenge for some of our guests. We wish we could provide a rest area on the ¼ -mile bridge, however because it is a suspension bridge that must be able to move in the wind, seating could not be attached and therefore, would be a safety hazard. It is difficult to portray scale on a park map of an area that is 300 acres in size. New in-park signage has been ordered and will be installed very soon. Unfortunately, golf cart rentals are not approved by our insurance carrier for safety reasons. We do have a shuttle available during peak season and our park staff is available to assist guests with medical issues that require transportation assistance. We do recommend guests ride the gondola to the South side making the 1-mile walk back to the visitor center a downhill stroll. We have placed benches along the path from the gondola for those who choose to walk up from the bridge. Concessions on the South rim open once the overnight temperatures are above freezing and we can turn the water on, as the pipes that supply that side of the gorge run under the bridge and can freeze if turned on too soon. We do try to post as much information as we can on our website so guests can be prepared for the terrain and know what is open.

We visited during the week in mid-August, and surprisingly many concessions were not open. If you are active or retired military, don't buy online tickets in advance; a discount is available on site with proper ID. A day ticket is good for two days; ask before you leave to get validation. The entry fee is a tad expensive; $30 online, $32 on site, $25 children. Entry fee gets you ride across on gondola, entrance to theater and use of playground. The Plaza Theater shows a film about the geological history of the area, but little about the actual construction of the bridge. In my opinion, the film was made to keep kid's attention with a cartoon element and was a tad silly. More information about the building of the bridge, which is a feat of engineering, would have been a lot more interesting. There was also a nature exhibition of raptors, which included an owl, an European buzzard, and a vulture. Interesting, but the presenter's microphone muffled her voice, which at times was hard to understand. I recommend taking the gondola over and walking back across the bridge. There are many viewpoints with spectacular options for photography on both sides of the bridge. I recommend wearing good walking shoes or sandals, no flip flops as trails can be steep and sometimes uneven.

Drove about an hour and a half from Colorado Springs arrived at the gorge. $40 to get in, additional for any other rides (gondola, ziplining, etc.) the gorge itself is pretty nice and the bridge is a nice work or architecture... but the lines for some of the rides are long, and we couldn’t find any good hikes in the area.

Hello Leandro, Thank you for spending some of your holiday weekend with us! We know lines on weekends, much less holiday weekends, tend to be quite a bit longer and we are having to go through additional procedures due to COVID which isn't helping - so sorry for that! Our General Admission price is $29/adult and guests save $2/ticket if they buy online. This ticket includes the bridge, aerial gondolas, children's playland, and the plaza theater. After that, the Zipline, Skycoaster, and Via Ferrata do have extra charges as they're a bit more high adrenaline and not everyone wants to partake. If you're back in this area, check out Fremont Adventure Recreation for a list of all the amazing trails in our region. Have a wonderful day! Dona Royal Gorge Bridge & Park

The scenery was beautiful as expected. We were disappointed that the winds were too high while we were there, so we weren't able to go on the gondola. Our family of 4 spent $106 with the gondolas being our main goal, so we were pretty disappointed. However, I am glad safety was being taken seriously. Check the weather forecast, and choose a day that is not windy.
The bridge was fun and only a little nerve-wrecking. Don't do bridge if you are already feeling nauseous or anything like that. There is a playground for kids and an airconditioned theather (with short history video) on one side of the gorge, and a cafe on the other side. Both sides have drinks, etc. Coffee stand was closed due to lack of staff.
I gave it 4 stars because on the right day this would have been more fun. But people should know that it's a lot less fun if it's too windy to do the gondolas or zip lining. Choose your day wisely and maybe call before going to check on wind situation.
