Experience America’s most spectacular rail journey aboard the Royal Gorge Route Railroad. In 1905, President Teddy Roosevelt described it best as “the trip that bankrupts the English language!” This memorable train ride through the Colorado Rockies features gorgeous scenery, great service and delicious food, sourced locally and prepared fresh right on board the train for breakfast, lunch, afternoon and dinner excursions. The train is running at 9:30, 12:30, and 3:30 daily in Coach, Club, First Class Lunch and Vista Dome. First Class Dinner and Murder Mystery dinner trains run on weekends. Wine Dinners run in August and October, and Oktoberfest runs September through October. Welcome Aboard!

Great family fun day! We bought 3 coach tickets. We spent some time inside and outside the car. No need to pay for anything else, you can see everything from the coach and the open cart. We had nachos and drinks and learned a lot...More

Living in Colorado for the last 30 years may have made it less spectacular for us because we have experienced how wonderful and beautiful Colorado is for many years. We paid $282 for 3 adults and 3 meals in the Vista Dome. Unfortunately, we were...More

We bought tickets for the first class lunch car the night before departure - what a treat!! We ended up having an entire car to ourselves, right next to an open air car. For a while, we had that to ourselves too. The staff was...More

Nice, fun relaxing train ride. We rode coach class, views were still good. To get to the open air cart you have to walk through about 3 other carts but is a must see. Educational speech given along the way. The food was great. We...More

The Royal Gorge Railway is GREAT! We had lunch in the glass dome car. I had the Colorado Chicken, my family/friends had the pork tenderloin. It was spectacular. We rode the open air car on the return trip. Amazing views. I would not hesitate to...More

We booked a train ride for a relaxing, sight seeing tour before white water rafting in the afternoon with River Runners. I would highly recommend asking when you book your ride to request sitting on the river side, no views from the other side but...More

This was a relaxing train trip for the adults. The kids (10 and 12 yo) were less that excited, luckily we had them bring their books so they kept themselves occupied during the down times. Our server, Austin, was awesome and related well to the...More

My wife and I had a great evening with a random couple on the murder mystery dinner train ride. I recommend doing this if you are in the area. Very entertaining and great food choices as well.

Cooler on the earlier morning trip. Also, it's not very long, and you'll want to be out on the observation deck. I'd recommend taking snacks so you don't miss any of the sights, like rafters on the river, the bridge... More
