We were only allowed to get to mile marker 13, as the rest of the way was closed due to weather. You are still above the timberline so all you see is snow and sky. The drive is amazing and beautiful but definitely an adrenaline...More
If you want to experience something amazing you must take the trip up on the cog railway to the top of Pikes Peak. Be aware that the air is very thin up there but if you can get over that you will have the most...More
Took me 30 years to get back there but worth the wait! The views are great and there are many spots to park and look around. Don't forget to bring something warm to wear at the top, There was some construction going on at the...More
This is a half-to-full day hike from the Barr Trail. Not for the untrained, however. The loss of the Cog Railway is disappointing but it should be rebuilt (hopefully) in the next two years. If you drive, it is not fully paved and a lot...More

We just got back 2 days ago. There is NOT a shuttle during this part of the year. Look on trip advisor and find a “tour”. Many locals do tours and will take you up Pikes Peak. Another thing to remember most likely you will be unable to reach the summit. Due to the winter weather you can only get to about mile marker 14 out of 19. It is still an amazing view as you are above the timberline. We did drive as far as we were allowed but it is an experience to say the least. Also, greyhound busses do one tour a day during this part of the season.
