There are many things to see and do on our mountain including experiencing spectacular views as you ascend to 14,115 feet, encounter Mother Nature on our hiking trails or watch for wildlife such as deer, elk, bighorn sheep or yellow-bellied marmots. You may even spot the elusive Bigfoot during your visit. The 19 mile journey on the fully paved road to the summit begins in Cascade, Colorado, just 15 minutes west of downtown Colorado Springs. From the entrance, at an altitude of 7,800 feet (2377m) begin to explore the Pike National Forest and the natural beauty of Colorado.Along the way, you'll discover the North Slope Recreation Area, Crystal Reservoir Gift Shop, Historic Glen Cove Inn, and the Summit House. There are three lakes for fishing, picnic areas, hiking trails, and breathtaking views. Stop and watch one of our "Meet the Ranger" Interpretive Programs and learn about the history, myths, flora and fauna on the mountain. All offer visitor services and basic necessities to make your day both enjoyable and memorable.

EXHILARATING!!

Went to Pikes Peak via the Cog rail which made it a lot of fun. It was cold when we got to 14,110 ft but the views are simply spectacular!

I always bring visitors to Colorado Springs to see Pikes Peak. There is a fee for driving up (recommended) or there is always the cog railway if you'd rather not take a car. A few cautions: If your car has bad brakes, don't take it. If your gas tank is on empty, fill it first. If anyone in your party... More

Wow, prepare to be scared out of your wits. Hardly any guard rails, and steep drop offs just feet away from your car... My wife and kids were ready to turn around at mile 5, but I paid $40 to get on that road, I was getting my $40 worth! The road was only open to mile 16 of 19,... More

We drove a car to the top which was exciting on its own. If you are scared of heights don't be the one driving. Also don't take an unreliable car up. Follow the rules on braking and using low gears or u will burn yours up on the way down. Awesome views at the top and yummy donuts. Bring a... More

Spectacular views. The highway is well maintained but gets very narrow and winding as you approach the summit. WARNING: the highway is narrow, winding and has no guardrails above timber line. If you are afraid of heights, this will make you nervous.

We rode the Cog railway and loved the sights, sounds, marmots, and flowers along the way up! It's a must do tourist thing.

The little train (cog Railway) was an awesome way to see the views. They stop at the top and allow ample time to take in the views. It's cold and the air is thin at the top so keep that in mind.

You can't miss Pikes Peak if you're in Colorado Springs. It towers to the West of town. You can drive up, hike up, or take the train. Worth getting to the top of America's Mountain!

It is a bit pricey to actually drive all the way to the peak of pikes peak, but worth it. Be warned, the road does not have a guard rail and it is pretty terrifying at times, but I am very glad we did it. Don't skip the Pike nation forest or the reservoirs on the way up. There are... More

Beautiful. Get out of your car and walk around. Bring your camera. Then head higher into the mountains. Such a beautiful region.
