There are many things to see and do on our mountain including experiencing spectacular views as you ascend to 14,115 feet, encounter Mother Nature on our hiking trails or watch for wildlife such as deer, elk, bighorn sheep or yellow-bellied marmots. You may even spot the elusive Bigfoot during your visit. The 19 mile journey on the fully paved road to the summit begins in Cascade, Colorado, just 15 minutes west of downtown Colorado Springs. From the entrance, at an altitude of 7,800 feet (2377m) begin to explore the Pike National Forest and the natural beauty of Colorado.Along the way, you'll discover the North Slope Recreation Area, Crystal Reservoir Gift Shop, Historic Glen Cove Inn, and the Summit House. There are three lakes for fishing, picnic areas, hiking trails, and breathtaking views. Stop and watch one of our "Meet the Ranger" Interpretive Programs and learn about the history, myths, flora and fauna on the mountain. All offer visitor services and basic necessities to make your day both enjoyable and memorable.

It was awesome to see from the top of Pikes Peak. We had our service dog with us, so we got to go to the top with our car! Otherwise, one needs to take the shuttle. Be careful, it's high up there! Don't do anything...More

The views are amazing up top at the visitor center and on the drive up and down. There are few guard rails so drive slowly. Take your time and enjoy the scenery. There are multiple pull-offs to relax and take pictures. The air can be...More

This was a must-see while visiting Colorado Springs for the first time, so we drove up to the park-and- shuttle at Mile 13, and took the shuttle van to the top. It was crowded at the top and not as impressive as I was expecting,...More

Ok, this drive scared me towards the top. Not for the faint of heart driver! They are redoing the store at the top, which I imagine will be very nice when done! Thunder and rain limited our time outside but we took the pictures we...More

The view at the top is so beautiful and I was so amazed but however, the air felt pretty thin which was a small downside. But, be sure to visit since it's jaw dropping and awesome!

Unbelievable journey and just what you imagine it could be! Roads seem well maintained but a couple of us remain terrified of the drive, given the drop offs. Any chance there will be more guard rails in the future? Would give me more piece of...More

The senior rate was $12per person which was not listed on the website so be sure to ask if you qualify. The roads were exceptionally well maintained so the drive was safe and quite fun. The summit was a nice mid 60 degrees and the...More

I heard complaints of the $50 toll fee, but the roads were so well maintained and they are building a new, state of the art visitor center, so in my opinion, it was worth it. We stopped at Crystal Reservoir for some pictures and then...More

We know there are taller mountains in the world, but Pikes Peak offered a tremendous view and awe for our family. We paid $50 at the gate and weren't allowed to take the shuttle up as we have a 6-year old in a booster. My...More

Met or exceeded expectation regarding the views. It was a slow drive and we personally were affected by the altitude so did not make the last leg by shuttle. The views were still worth it!

At the high elevations it’s hard to breath even for adults. Small children might feel the same and hard to breathe. I have n’t seen any babies up the peak.

Weather can vary so it is very difficult to say. September does offer fall colors on the mountain and pleasant temperatures.
