This is an urban park that feels like you are in the wilderness. Lots of ups and downs and enough choices of trails to make for as long a hike as you might like!

We love Ute Park, but some attention needs to be made with the unleashed dogs. Signs at the park clearly state, all dogs must be leashed. Folks don't understand that: A. Some people fear dogs B. Not all dogs are dog friendly C. Much wildlife in the park There is no one there to enforce the issue, so people take... More

Varied terrain with rocks, sand, forest & great views. Taking picture of map at either end will help "a little", but majority of trails unmarked.& map on line different then one's at park. Difficult to follow trails because of large expanses of flat rock or sand, unmarked rails & people mistakenly turning animal trails into new trails. 3rd visit. Also... More

Took my older Blue Heeler for a day hike through the many trails here at this free City Park. Good parking with portable restrooms on sight. Take plenty of water with you on a sunny day. You can choose some altitude or stay on the well maintained lower paths as well. We never had to jump off the path to... More

I stopped off at Ute Valley to meditate and do some easy hiking. Very enjoyable and of course beautiful surroundings. Dogs love it and good for the kids too.

I visit here at least twice per month and always find new trails to hike. Most are very well maintained and extremely doable. My favorite is the Pine Ridge trail . It has a steady, but manageable increase in elevation and provides spectacular vies of Pike's Peak, Red Rocks open space and Colorado Springs.

The mountain biking here is a mix a rocky single track and some sandy trail. Excellent riding and hiking. Deer can be seen close and afar. Great visit.

Wonderful place for a quick 2-4 mile hike without much elevation gain. Good for families with little kids or those of us who are not looking for a strenuous hike.
