This is as authentic an experience that anyone will get when visiting the true historically significant towns of Colorado. Our kids were excited to go, and tired when done - but really enjoyed how much they learned about the reality of the mining life, and how hard the work really is. Cavernous, great lighting and restoration, and the tour guides... More

Fun stop on the Bachelor loop. Excellent and informative mine tour and history of the mine. Also fun to rock hound for a while even if we didn't know what we were doing.

Amber and Fish brought the mine to life for us. Amber started our visit off with how Jack acquired the mine and what his vision was for the Last Chance. Fish continued the experience by taking us into the tunnels and showing us how the ore and stones were mined. He explained the process of mining in the late 1890's... More

The view is stunning. The restoration is great. It is a mine tour for even the claustrophobic. I can't say enough about it all. Even getting there is great. We were considering coming back to stay in one of the cabins. Having said all that, the Last Chance Mine would get top reviews if the employees were not volunteering their... More

Our guide was quirky, but knowledgable, and we enjoyed it so much we looked up more information on the Internet on the way home.

The mine is well lighted and safety comes first. With required hard hats, safe room, air monitors, and emergency phone. The tunnels and stoops are beyond description. The walls are covered in amethyst and agate crystals. You have to see it to believe what the miners did.

The parking monitor-person had us park in a specific spot. We got to watch adorable chipmunks peek around her as she sat on a giant rock and gave us some history of the mine. Later you could buy sunflower seeds for 25 cents to feed the chipmunks. The jewelry shop was small but interesting. Lots of variety. So MANY different... More

My wife and I heard about Last Chance Mine only on Friday 8/19/16 from a vendor at the Woodland Park Gem Show (Chris from Cripple Creek). Sunday 8/21/16 we made the trip to Last Chance Mine (about 140 miles from where we live in Buena Vista). What a fantastic surprise in a GORGEOUS location above 10,000 ft. and deep in... More

This is 'the real deal ', the actual mine is huge and as more sections are opened for viewing I look forward to what they find. The veins of ore & gems are spectacular. The tour was very informative, 35-40 minutes & mining techniques thoroughly explained & shown. They also have so many rocks & minerals to buy. His goal... More

Great place to visit. Got a chance to meet Jack, the guy who bought it for the cost of the taxes. The views are unbelievable.
