What a great tour! We had an extra hour to do another activity, so decided to take the tour of the Old Homestead “Brothel”. The tour actually surprised me because there were a lot of original items still in that little building. The two ladies...More

This was the first place my hubbie and I stopped on our way into Cripple Creek. It's the last brothel still standing in Cripple Creek - allow me to clarify. The last one standing, not still in operation. The history of the 'madam' there and...More

The Old Homestead House was a parlour house or upscale brothel for only the wealthiest men in Cripple Creek. The tour lasts about half an hour and goes through ten rooms. The $7 admission is very reasonable for all the interesting information you learn. You...More

We stayed a week in Cripple Creek. There's not a weeks worth of stuff to do in Cripple Creek besides gambling, but this is one that turned out to be a surprisingly enjoyable experience. It cost $7 dollars per person, and you get a guided...More

I have been to a lot of house tours but none like this one! To hear stories about how brothels operated was so eye opening. My 16 year old daughter was completely disturbed with how things used to be. We learned a lot.

A very fascinating and informative tour through a very historical parlor house in Cripple Creek. The guides are all very knowledgeable and love to show off this beautiful, old building. I would highly recommend going on this tour!!

We made another trip her in Aug. of 2017 since it was closed in 2016, It was very informative and interesting. The guide was very easy to understand and knowledgeable of the museum history.

This is a fascinating museum! These were very upscale working girls with the house to go with them. The wallpaper alone was quite expensive for any time in history. We really enjoyed our tour and of course I bought the book. The only drawback is...More

At one time there were many (parlors) in Cripple Creek. Homestead House was an exclusive parlor and catered to only the very well-to-do after a full financial review and approval by the owner. The furnishings were, and still are including a Tiffany table lamp from...More

Who knew? So many interesting tidbits shared by our guides - one downstairs and another upstairs. Interesting to see the rooms with original paraphernalia strewn about. Salon, gambling room, bedrooms. Definitely a fun stop if you are in Cripple Creek.

Best bet - call the Heritage Center: 719 689-3315. My guess is that it's probably not open in April (too much snow and no tourists). But still best to check with the folks that know for sure.

I don't remember exactly how much tickets were. Less than $10 a person I'm sure. Your took about 30-45 mins. It's definitely worth it. Lots of old history in that place.
