This place is not as big as Denver's main amusement park but it retains lots of character. Take the kids on the little train that circles the lake.

This place is almost an anachronism. It still looks pretty much the way I remember it looking way back in the 1970's, and they still have one of the last "wooden" roller coasters on its original site in the entire United States. Traveling to this place is like traveling through time. It is also inexpensive - pay as you go.

This is a place to visit around dusk and enjoy the lights coming on, it's better at night. The train around the lake is great for young kids and the young at heart. Look, it's not a Six Flags or Elitches type place. This is retro, barely getting by, but the price is right (watch for coupons), the lines rarely... More

Despite living in Colorado my whole life, I had never been to Lakeside before. Although it's no Elitch Gardens and there really isn't a massive number of rides or things to do, it is a fun place to be. The rides that do exist are classic and you definitely get an old-fashioned amusement park vibe. It does get a bit... More

Back in the day, Elitch Gardens Amusement Park and Lakeside Amusement Park represented the best in entertainment for the family. Lakeside has kept the old amusement park feel and atmosphere by keeping the park a family fun place. We used to take our grandchildren there because the rides were perfect for young children and they always enjoyed the rides. Having... More

This is an old-school amusement park. Think more like the Sandlot and less like Disney. The paint on the rides is worn away in spots, some of the lights need replaced, and the food is less than gourmet. All of this adds up to a perfect experience!

We took 6 teenage boys and 2 teenage girls. We originally thought it would be inexpensive, but ended up being more then we anticipated by the time we bought all day passes and food. The food was gross and all of the booths had unsanitary conditions. We won't be back.

Lakeside Amusement Park might be a little rough about the edges, but it is a jewel in the amusement park world. Instead of paying for gimmicks or franchises, enjoy the simplicity of a spin on the Whip-It, the hilarity of becoming family with everyone in the Autoskooter (bumper cars), the surprises of The Chipmunk coaster, and the delightful terror of... No big shiny rides. And most of them are older than the average adult patron. But a relaxed, old fashioned vibe. And perfect for younger kids. Ethnically and economically diverse to boot.

Ever wonder what your grandparents did for fun? Visit Lakeside Amusement Park and find out! Ride the coolest wooden roller coaster (with manual brakes), the super cool merry go round, and the train. Almost every ride spins, so don't eat much until you have finished the fun. Then you can eat popcorn and all kinds of goodies while playing games.... More
