We went the wrong time of the year :) echo lake is frozen solid but the drive was still breathtaking and the entire family enjoyed the snow view.

Loved this scenic drive. Be careful if you have passengers in the car who get motion sick though as this drive would certainly do it. Beautiful views from the top and along the way. Unfortunately we went on an unseasonably windy day and could barely...More

Winter or summer this is one of the best drives that can be made from the Denver area in a half day. It gives people visiting Denver an opportunity to visit the small town of Evergreen, the small town of Idaho Springs, and to drive...More

The winding road to the top is immensely scenic, but does not prepare you for the amazing views at the top. Be prepared to meet white Mountain Goats who will greet you at the visitor center. And you can climb a "14'er" in about half...More

We go here about once a year, and considered having our wedding there, but no place for a reception...the lake is lovely, and there's an easy walking path that goes around it, as well as harder hikes that go up on the mountain. We've been...More

Once you get there, the view from the top is AWESOME! The ride up there is scary. The road is narrow & going around corners swing wide so they are on your side of the road. Just be patient & take your time.

Our drive on Mt Evans road was fun and exciting. We experienced rain, sun and snow all in the same drive. The road is scenic and their botanical gardens half-way along the road absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend.

Beautiful drive to the summit where you really get a one of a kind view of the continental divide. The scenery is multifaceted and takes you from a picturesque western valley all the way up to high alpine tundra. Wildlife viewing is excellent and there...More

Drove along the Mount Evans Scenic Byway during the middle part of November. The snowy vistas were breathtaking and indescribably beautiful.

Just put in Mt. Evans, as the lake is on the only road going up there. Or you can put in Echo Lake Lodge, which is the restaurant about 1/4 mile further up the road.

Hi! It’s very easy to get to. The lake is not that far up the mountain, so I would assume it’s easy to access until it snows. I’m not sure when the very top closes. Have fun!
