    Informative and Interesting
We enjoyed a rainy afternoon exploring the museum. The exhibits were easy to navigate and covered a wide range of Colorado history.. The museum staff was friendly and helpful. Would recommend that history lovers stop here!

    An Informative Visit!
My parents and I visited the History Colorado Center in March 2023 and had an enjoyable time. While we were there, there was a naturalization ceremony occurring in the main atrium which was special to witness as this museum celebrates one of the great states of the United States of America. I appreciated the museums commitment to honoring all voices of Colorado and not just those of white people. You could see throughout the exhibits the many diverse stories that make up the state's history. I also enjoyed learning a bit more about Denver's history from a small town to booming metropolitan area. This museum is definitely a must visit while in town to learn more about the great state of Colorado!

    History museum good for families
Overall a pleasant visit. Good for children, lots of interactive exhibits, focuses on history of Colorado and Denver. Could spend an hour looking at the exhibits. Nice gift shop and overall spacious and airy. Some of the exhibits seemed a bit dated and amateurish, but still a good place to learn about Colorado history. Would recommend to families with kids and school groups

Our elementary aged daughter missed two field trips to History Colorado due to Covid19 and has been asking to visit since. We purchased tickets online and, while the museum does have some neat interactive exhibits, it really fails to fully reflect the history of Colorado.

Glaringly obvious was the absence of any real history of the oil and gas industry which has had such an impact to our states past and present economy. Per the Denver Post in May 2020 "The state’s petroleum industry employs about 90,000 people, directly and indirectly, generates $13.5 billion in economic activity, and provides $1 billion in taxes to state and local governments, according to an analysis from the University of Colorado Boulder." Why this museum would not showcase this part of our past and present (other than a very small display) is incredibly disappointing.

Had a great time. Some of the art pieces are done by local artists. We were lucky enough to go on a day the artist was there and we were able to contribute hand casts to an ongoing project.
There is so much to see. I highly recommend it.

I was staying right across the street and knocked out here and the nearby art museum on the same day. The history center is priced similarly to the art museum yet it is a much better value in that I spent over an hour and had to drag myself out begrudgingly due to other engagements. Every exhibit was interesting and it provided an outstanding overview on the past and present factors influencing Colorado's culture.

This is a must see attraction but you should give yourself at least an hour.

While we found that the museum was a bit Denver-centric, we did enjoy learning about Colorado history. The best exhibit was the telling of Colorado history in 100 objects. A very creative approach to telling the broad story of Colorado history through individual stories and objects.

A big Squat 4 story Building. Built with a lot of stone. For me the 1st floor was a bust. There was a clothes exhibit, pass. Then I went up to the 4th floor and the exhibits got much better. I did enjoy floors 2-4. My only real issue was I thought the # of artifacts was lacking. The Denver Art Museum had 4 times the artifacts, and I'm not talking paintings and sculptures. This museum in my opinion had too many video exhibits vs real objects exhibits. That being said I did spend almost 2 hours viewing the exhibits.

Overall for me this was a 3 1/2 star review. Due to I have to round it ends up a 3 for me. If you like video exhibits I could easily see it gain a star for you. Would I return? No, I much preferred the Denver Art Museum and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science!

This museum is truly a treasure trove of Colorado's rich and diverse history, and it's one of the best historical museums I've ever been to.

I was impressed by the quality of the exhibits. Each one was engaging, interactive, and expertly designed to tell a story about the people and events that have shaped Colorado's past. I

One of the standout features is the attention to detail in every exhibit. The artifacts on display were fascinating and well-preserved, and the interactive exhibits were both educational and fun. I particularly loved the virtual reality experience that transported me back in time to a Native American village.

We flew into Denver and only had a few hours in the city before moving to our next location. This was one of 2 stops we made in the city. The museum was beautiful and the exhibits were engaging. My kids especially loved the ski simulator. The front desk staff was wonderfully welcoming. We probably could have spent another hour there, but we were on a tight timeline.

Only concern I had (and this has nothing to do with the museum itself) was that the surrounding area did not feel safe. I have been in many big cities, and I am not used to feeling that unsafe, especially during daytime hours.

I almost didn’t visit the museum because I read some reviews that it was only so-so. But I’m so glad I did because I thought the museum was very well done! The exhibits cover a wide range of Colorado history (warts and all) with some interactive elements here and there. I didn’t think there was too much reading. There’s a lot of visual interest and one can move through quickly while still getting a sense of what was happening. My husband and I spent two hours and visited every part of the museum, although we did not stop at every placard etc. Most definitely worth the $15 per person entry.

There are four floors of exhibits depicting the history of Colorado. We spent several hours looking at the exhibits and reading about Colorado. We parked in a pay parking lot about one and a half blocks away and there is an admission charge.
