Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We pulled off the freeway and parked in the lot on the left facing the Buffalo (Bison) Overlook. There were no bison at the time near the parking area, but we did see the bison up above in the trees (maybe 500 to 1,000 feet away). We did not do any trails in the park, but we did drive from this area to Lookout Mountain which has Wild Bill Cody's grave and a great view of Golden, CO and Denver (if it is clear).

Easy drive from Denver (around 30 minutes). Short hike to the summit from the highest parking lot. Lovely views and not crowded. Families having picnics. Restrooms at parking lot. Small arena where there are occasionally free concerts. Nice place. Mountain road has a few potholes. You can head there late morning and be back in the city for lunch. We saw no bison but weren’t looking either, just wanted a short nice hike with views.

Just put a quarter in the machine they'll be right over. Four quarters you get to ride them.
This depends on the position of the moon relative to the Colorado River.
Head over to Buffalo Bills grave and Emporium tell them Ralphie sent you. Get a free hat!

We enjoyed driving around this beautiful park. The buffalo are free to roam behind a large fenced in area, but we were lucky enough to see the Buffalo quite nicely towards the end of our drive. One was sitting right near the fence, so we really got an appreciation of the enormous size of these beautiful creatures! There were several babies in the herd as well. It was a good day, and best of all this park is free!

I've worked right by here for several years now and I really enjoy watching the local bison herd. The city of Denver manages it and they do a great job. Very soon the baby bison will start to show up. There's a new bike path/pedestrian path that parallels I-70, so it's even easier to enjoy this area. We're lucky to have it.

This is a great place to get a great view of the Buffalo. They are amazing! Last time I was there we got to see their babies! Just pull over, lots of space to park. Enjoy

Found this completely by accident. My wife and I were returning to the Boulder area after driving the Rocky Mountain National Park when I saw this herd of buffalo on the other side of I-70. We turned around and came back to view and take pictures of the herd which were very close. Glad to see the city of Denver putting money into saving natural and national resources such as bison. Incidentally, Buffalo Bill's grave and museum is just a few miles up the hill.

This park has amazing views, great anytime of year. The park has a small fee to enter but has many trails. Added bonus it has views of Denver.

It is kinda neat to see the buffalo, but after searching for the herd and missing an exit, I think it's just fine to drive and look out the window as you pass. Nothing exciting, but it's a great "hey, I saw the buffalo" moment.

Genessee Park is a huge Denver owned Park that is easily reached from I-70 just west of the city. This park is most notable for it's huge herd of buffalos which you can easily see on either the south or north side of the Interstate. The signs also say that there is a large elk herd here, but I haven't seen them. There are some picnic areas in the higher altitudes of the park. I personally like going to Genessee Park to photograph the buffalo, particularly when their are newborn in the herd.
