Historically preserved art deco theatre in the hear of Denver. Unfortunately, by preserving the interior, many of the seats are not very comfortable. However, some of the finest artsy type movies are shown here.

My wife and I are movie goers. We're also fairly big travelers. We've learned over the years that as interesting as monuments , old houses, and national parks are, many of these cities house hidden gems in the form of old movie houses that have been saved and restored. A shining example is the Landmark Mayan in Denver. It was... More

While the movie theater is old (yes that means uncomfortable seats) it has a nice charm and this adds to the ambience. Nothing like coming to see an independent or foreign film in a theater like this one. Plus after the movie just swing by Sweet Action for some ice cream and your day is complete!

Went to see the new Ab Fab movie. So happy to see it at the Mayan! What a feast for the eyes, and the seats are super comfortable! The best part? Being able to buy an adult beverage at a decent price, in a REAL GLASS, and taking it into the theater to enjoy during the show. And the popcorn... More

Built around the 1930's, the Mayan is now a Landmark theater featuring indy films. Get there early and admire the architecture. Don't look for the popular tiered seating or reclining seats. This is an old time theater. But a must see

Seeing a movie in the large movie theaters is great for what it offers. Seeing a movie at the Landmark's Mayan Theatre is an experience. I love the way they serve you at the concession stand, preserved the theater, and the people that attend to see a movie. It's a 10+

The Mayan always has an interesting and unique selection of movies. I live a few blocks away and I'm always drawn to the movies they offer and there is a unique ambience inside, but I found the seats to be extremely uncomfortable and cramped. It might be fine for some people, but I have back problems and was unable to... More

Mark Cuban really did well by leaving the atmosphere alone here, historical landmark. Intimate movie going theater, great concessions and a bar! The employees are great... foreign films are shown here as well as artsy ones! Great date night adventure! Parking is in back of Walgreens next door!

The place is decorated in such an awesome retro way. I haven't been to a theatre like this since high school. They show a lot of independant and limited release films. Which is what brought us here. It's fun to get away from the megaplexes and have a more intimate setting. They have really good popcorn too. The price is... More
