Dillon Lake is surrounded by the most scenic mountains in the Rockies. There are roads ringing the lake and in late September the aspens ring it with brilliant gold. Stop at the Safeway in Frisco and make a deli sandwich to take to the Swan Mountain road (one of the ringing roads) which rises to give incredible views. There is... More

This is a beautiful lake in an even more beautiful setting. The view of the lake with the mountains in the background is spectacular. Don't miss stopping here.

We hiked along the reservoir and viewed the boats out and the mountains in the background. Just wonderful.

If you want a great place to kayak, paddle board, sailing, or fish for fresh trout, this is a great place to go. They don't allow swimming or jet skis, so it is always a quiet place to go!

What's not to love about this place, first the views are spectacular, mountains and beautiful water. Second, it is a very clean reservoir, mainly because you can not waterski or swim here. BUT you can sail to your hearts content, kayak, paddle board ,pontoon and fish. and the bike path goes around the lake about 18 miles, but just gorgeous.... More

The lake and surrounding scenery is absolutely beautiful, there is a trail that goes almost all the way around the lake that is really nice to enjoy on foot or bicycle. You can rent paddle boards, kayaks or bicycles.

Dillon Res is usually very crowded during the summer, but by late August and early September it's a perfect place to get out on the water or walk along the beach. The views of the mountains are spectacular, the water is still warm enough, and the sun and warmth are just right. Not too hot, not cold yet. Quite a... More

Make sure to make time to stop by Sapphire Point to feed the chipmunks. Just grab some sunflower seeds and walk just a short bit to find a beautiful view and friendly chipmunks. They are very friendly and will eat right out of your hands. My 3 year old loved it and so did I! Just bring either shelled or... More

We rented a condo in Dillon for the entire family. It had a great view of the lake. It was the weekend of the Dillon lake sailing regatta. We especially enjoyed watching the sailboat races. The bike path around the lake is great. We rented bikes and took the grandchildren on a scenic ride. The bike path only has a... More

Amazing views of the Dillon Reservoir and surrounding areas. If the visibility is clear and unlimited, the views are breathtaking. Sapphire Point is a short walk from the parking area and well worth the exercise. If you have kids, or kids-at-heart, you'll love seeing all the chipmunks and birds.
