We loved the museum and it’s great exhibits. Great to see the train running too especially in the snow. We were disappointed that we didn’t get to ride the train so I would recommend booking this in advance especially as winter has limited runnings, totally...More

Remember that this is a coal burning train and leave a large amount of dirty air . the views are outstanding and the small town of Silverton is a bunch of fun. Suggest you take the bus back to Durango if smoke is a problem

Actually either side of the train gives you great views. During the late spring, all summer and very early fall, we enjoy sitting in the open gondola car. You won't miss a sight. Happy travels🚂
