Of the world's trappist breweries, I believe this is the only one that can be visited daily for an excursion. The excursion goes through the monastery, and along the way one learns about the brewing process, about the criteria for trappist beers, and about the history of trappists. One gets to see the kettles and the bottlery. Also the old... More

They brought them in smaller tasting glasses so we could enjoy a variety without overindulging! The quadrupel cheese was also delicious

The tour I had was in English by a funny and enthusiastic Dutch guide Tony. There is an intro film in Dutch with English subtitles. The tour takes you to the old brew house and bottling area but not the areas where the monks live, understandably so. The area outside was pretty with fresh snow but probably really nice in... More

Very funny and passionate tour guide, a pretty abbey, delicious lunches and monumental trappist beers. I recommend any beer, abbey or food lover to visit the place and take the tour.

Sit down at the proeflokaal and enjoy a few of the best trappist beers this world has to offer. I have been here multiple times and was never disappointed. Great beer and great food as well. It might take some time before your food is served but this is only because the place can be crowded and the kitchen is... More

Lovely place to visit, join a guided visit as well, and have lunch in the tasting room terrace. Good options of food, and of course all the beers made by this brewery. Absolutely a must if you're nearby and love beers.

Is everything you can wish from a Trappist brewery, good beer and food too. Monastery can only be visited by organized groups, but the gift shop is a must.

This place is really nice to visit for having a quiet seating with some good Trappist beer. It can be busy, but you always find seating. If you like the outdoors then absolutely a yes. We had some mini croquettes (Dutch: bitterballen) and a cheese plate, both very nice; the cheese plate was really nice presented. If you have 2... More
