A fun place to learn some local history. The ladies who provide the tour are super sweet and willing to answer questions. I like seeing the phases the house went through over the years.

The museum is a trip into the past. A tour guide takes you through an old historical mansion and out buildings. Along the tour you learn the history of the family and lands around Evergreen. More for parents than kids but kids can enjoy it as well.

My wife and I just moved to Evergreen and attended the Art Fair at the Grove next to Hiwan Museum. We decided to take the guided tour and really enjoyed it. They have guides for each section of the museum/home who have clearly learned the history of the early settlements in Evergreen. They encourage questions and are very engaging--clearly proud... This is a very interesting museum located in Evergreen. My family enjoyed walking the grounds and going on the tour. The tour guide was very knowledge and all seemed to enjoy the tour. The three teenagers did comment that the tour was a little long, they wished it had been shorter. (The tour lasted approximately 40 minutes.)

I visited this historical site today and enjoyed the tour through the home and the properties. The docent was really knowledgable about the era and the history of the home. There are a number of pieces of Native american art collected by the original family of the home. Apparently, they were the main donors for the Denver Art Museum's Native... More

This was our second tour of the museum, this being our best visit. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able to give us interesting details of the homestead that were so very interesting. The kids building toward the back of the property holds wonderful toys for kids to enjoy. On our visit several years ago, the kids building... More

My husband and I moved from Florida to Evergreen Colorado this past June. Evergreen has a glorious pioneer history that we hoped to gain knowledge of. A wonderful place to visit the beginning and growth of a community called Hiwan. It's wonderful to have a personal guide who volunteers and shares their enthusiasm with you.

Stopped by this little gem on an afternoon in March. The staff was welcoming and accommodating as we couldn't stay long.
