You can ride or walk many miles on this trail which is next to the Poudre River. Many great area stops including restaurants, parks, brewery. River is busy near town but many areas with good fishing, tubing and relaxation.

I first saw the Cache La Poudre when I was 2 years old. It's a great place to dip your toe into the water and watch it flow by on a hot day. There is catch and release fly fishing for those who love to fish, also catch and eat fishing. Eating lunch on Mishawaka's deck. Honking your horn as... More

there are numerous rafting companies with really fun tours and guides to take you down the mellow...or not so mellow...portions of the river. Check out Mishawaka while you're up there for lunch!

They have a store, liquor store, great restaurant with excellent food and a bar. There are RV sites, cabins, both rustic and modern, and tent sites, some on an island in... More

This is a beautiful area to see. My husband and I took a few hours to drive back into the canyon a ways. Breath taking views.

We enjoy exploring the canyon roads in Colorado, and when we learned that Big Thompson Canyon (US Route 34) is closed for road repair, we decided to head up State Route 14 Poudre Canyon Road along the Cache la Poudre River northwest of Fort Collins, CO. This canyon is a relatively peaceful alternative to the busy routes to Estes Park.... More

Each year special tours are set to hear about the homestead sites by relatives of that early generation. A wonderful historical review of the early canyon days.
