The lake itself is very crowded and full of people. But you just have to ignore them and try to get lost in the moment of this beautiful place you are seeing. Don't forget to take the extra little hike to Spouting Rock while you're up there,

As a native of Colorado, i have been on the hike to Hanging Lake several times over the years and am sad to say it is run down! People making their own shortcuts, trash laying around, people carving their names in trees (A tree gets its nutrients from their roots to the top in a layer of cells just under... More

It's a very steep climb 3 - 4 hrs but you go at your own pace. I barely made it but there were children and pregnant people climbing. There are a lot of big rocks to climb over but you can rest as much as you want. It was worth it. Wear good shoes my hiking boots gave me bad... More

Get to this trail head early or you make not be able to park and hike. It is a gorgeous little hike most folks can manage. Enjoy a nice picnic when you get back. Many tables along the Colorado to enjoy. This is a great hike in summer of winter.

Being a Native of Colorado this is an annual family hike for us! The trail has taken a beating but the tremendous Park Rangers do a remarkable job with renovations and trail upkeep! Colorado's Highlight of Pristine Nature and Beauty!🌲

This hike had its steep moments but it is easy and safe. We just packed a couple bottles of water. Great spot for pic. Up and back with some minimal resting at the top took about 1.5 hours. Do yourself a favor and only arrive here via bike shuttle.

We've heard if you plan to go on the weekend, plan to go before 10 AM, to get a parking spot. We came here on a Friday, getting to the parking lot at 11:20 AM. There were a few spots open. *This is NOT an easy hike. Be sure to wear hiking shoes, or hard soled shoes, because much of... More

IF you start early, you can get into the parking area! If not, there's quite a wait. The hike is moderate with loose rock at times. Lots of folks on the trail but worth it once you arrive at the lake!

Lots of elevation gain and many spots were very rocky. This trail was beautiful, but was so overcrowded. Many were not following trail etiquette. Once you reach the lake, it is simply beautiful and amazing, but again, many were not following visitor guidelines. Please follow trail guidelines - no dogs, no climbing the fallen log in the lake, pick up... More

1.2 mile hike in and then back. It's not an easy one for anyone with issues, but not too bad for those in shape. You walk along a rocky trail with constant small waterfalls on the side as you go. Pretty scenery. The lake itself is well worth the hike up. Take water. No dogs allowed on the trail. Plan... More
