It was breathtaking, literally! Quite a vertical hike to the top, but thankfully we had done some tough hikes the days prior and it did not seem as difficult as those. The view is 100% worth it though! Crystal clear water, gorgeous water falls and...More

Beautiful lake although the hike was a bit challenging and tiring, but all worth it when you finally reached the lake. The water was transparent so clear. You can easily see fish swimming inside the lake. Don‘t miss the water fall behind the lake. It...More

We read a lot of reviews about getting there early and they're right! Plan to be there at 7 am, mainly because of parking. It's very limited once they're full you have to turnaround and try again some other time, the park rangers will not...More

I grew up in this area, but had never seen hanging lake. Bake in the '70's I went with a friend, but we somehow "missed" the lake. We hiked about 5 miles. Because of this I wanted to see the lake that I missed 40...More

The hike to get there is very strenuous but once you see the lake you’ll be so glad you made it! The waterfalls are beautiful too. The lake itself is so clear you can see the bottom & the fish. Magical place, loved it!

This is a gorgeous hike near Glenwood Springs. However, if you're going to go, go early in the day to avoid the fiasco that is the parking situation, there. Also go the upper falls, there. It's up the hill from the lake itself, and going...More

The trail to Hanging Lake is 1.2 miles long, and increases in elevation 1000 feet. It is strenuous, but with breaks, it takes about one hour to get to the lake. The water is beautiful and clear. If you visit, use Leave No Trace practices...More

After making the Hike up to the Lake you will find more around the Corner and above it. Most of the time there is a Waterfall that cascades down in front of a Cave and then down a Steam and into the Lake below.

Don’t count on having cell service. Neither my wife (Sprint) nor I (Verizon) had service back in April 2018. If I remember correctly l, we lost it even before we pulled into the parking area.
