Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The trail itself is not very strenuous and is in great shape from the parking lot all the way to the summit. There are several different trails hikers can take once at the top; the flat summit is much larger than it seems from the highway. The 360-degree views are also spectacular! Make sure to bring water and sunscreen, as there is no cover.
This might be a nice hike if it weren't jam-packed with people. Too many inconsiderate folks with their unruly pets and children. Too many folks too obsessed with their selfies to realize how close they are to knocking into folks on the trail. People parking in non-parking spots, making it difficult for other folks to get out. People not picking up their pet's waste. Clearly lots of visitors come here who aren't actual hikers.
If you want the same views with fewer crowds, try South Table Mountain...it's much better!

A group of us had some time to kill before our flight back home and weren't in our hiking gear. The trails were easy to hike and the scenery was beautiful.

North Table Mountain Park is a gem in Golden's backyard. Great trails for hiking and biking. Areas for rock climbing as well. On a recent hike with my dog after a recent snow, we passed cross country skiers too.

Great Hike - Great Views of Golden and Denver. We took the steep hill on the west side up from the parking lot. Then the gentle loop to the north and back down the mountain. Probably a 2.5 mile hike. This place get very crowded. Try off peak times to get a parking spot. Watch for rattlesnakes.

We were staying in Golden and decided to take a local hike. The South Table Mountain is opposite the North Table Mountain. We hiked on a misty overcast Saturday morning and enjoyed the view from the top. It was about an hour round trip. We went from the bottom with vegetation to the top where there were just a rocky area. It was a delightful exercise on a Saturday morning after two days of graduation celebration and too much food.

This is a beautiful area with amazing scenery. We even saw a deer right by the parking lot. The trails where just a little too steep for what I was expecting that day. But the views are spectacular. Many people enjoying the trails and sunshine. I will plan better and return for a good day of hiking.

North Table Mountain Park has a large parking lot and restrooms. The trail starts to incline immediately and really doesn't let up until you get to the top. The views are beautiful the whole way up and you get great scenery from the start with the immediate elevation. The trail is very wide and well maintained. Once you get to the top, you can take stone steps on the right and gain even more elevation and more stunning views. If you're up to walking a good deal, you can circle around for miles but it is pleasant enough and a good workout to do the short loop around and back down to the parking lot.

I'm a bit out of shape but this hike was doable for me. The key is not taking the ever popular steep climb from Hades at the very beginning lol. I forgot the name of the trail but to the left of the parking lot (steep part is to the right) there's the other side of the trail which gently flows up and downhill, leaving the steep part for last. If you have bad knees though I suggest doing it the popular steep part first. It's also close to Denver which is super convenient and the views are pretty great on a clear day, especially those of downtown. Be wary during the rainy parts of the year because it gets super muddy.

North Table is a fabulous training run/hike, mildly strenuous (except for the first bit that goes straight uphill when you're not warmed up). Views from the top are superlative, and it's a great place to take visitors if there's too much snow up on the higher elevations of the Front Range.
Except...
Except for the DOG POOP! In the past few years, bad bad dog owners have allowed their dogs to run wild, and crap anywhere they like - even in the middle of the trail. Even though they're required to by law and will be cited if caught, dog owners don't care and there is crap EVERYWHERE. It's nearly impossible to avoid. Some dog owners even bag up their dog's mementos and leave the bags all over the trail, throw them in trees, or throw the bags down the sides of the mesa. It's disgusting.
A few years ago this was hands-down a 5 star local hike, but now because of the dog poop, I can't give it more than a 3.
Avid hikers are starting petitions to get local legislatures to prohibit ALL dogs on this trail. Bad dog owners ruin trails for good dog owners.
BUT - if you have a good boot stick to clean the inevitable poop out of your boots, this is a great day hike, and you can get as many as 17 miles in if you do all the trails.

What fun! Can hunt for minerals, bike, and/or hike. The top has amazing views, and is much bigger that it appears. Bring water, FIRST go Golden's tourist center, or to the Mountain Club center ,to pick your access to North Table. The best access (there are at least four) depends on what you want to do.
