Great drive in ant season. Winter will test your skill & nerve. An all day trip in any season. Many great photo ops

We have been to the Grand Mesa many times, but this trip was to cut down our own Christmas Tree. We hiked in about a mile and then snowshoed the rest of the way to find our perfect tree. There are many species of trees to choose from, just grab a permit and follow the map. A great new tradition... More

We ride the motorcycle over the Grand Mesa often and it's spectacular in autumn. Nice winding roads and 20 degrees cooler than the valley. We usually stop for lunch at the Creekside cafe in Cedaredge. Mesa Lakes Lodge is also scenic with decent food though we had no service last time we tried to eat there. We left and went... More

We came from Salt Lake City for a quick escape to this amazing splendor of breathtaking beauty. We are originally from Colorado but had never been to Grand Mesa and I'm so happy to say we experienced this awesome creation. Clean, fresh crisp air, our lungs took it all in. We camped in our little Subaru at campground for $12,... More

As I don't want my secret spot to suddenly be as popular as Vail or Aspen. I love this part of Colorado, mosquitoes and all. The hike is lovely and offers unparalleled vistas. It is a tougher hike but there are tougher hikes right in Boulder.

Beautiful views for an afternoon adventure if staying in Grand Junction. Take a little drive through Grand Mesa, we went on national parks weekend so it was free.

It is my favorite place to go.It does not matter what season is outside-the view will be beautiful! It is a lot of activities you can do there: hiking, skiing, fishing,ATV riding, snowmobilies, boating and on and on .

We visited the first week of October. The leaves were in full change, there were very few other tourists to compete with, and the weather was gorgeous. Couldn't have asked for better day.
