Argo Mine offers a guided tour of the entrance to the mine shaft and the gold processing factory, which was closed many years ago after a flooding accident. You don't actually see a mine, but rather the entrance to a large drainage tunnel to several...More

Tour guide was passionate, knowledgeable, informative, energetic, accommodating and well paced. We were an extended family of 6, from 11 months to 64 years, and the entire thought the tour was wonderfully done.

We toured the mine and mill as a group of 30. The staff was amazing. Special thanks to Tom and The Sheriff(Laura) for their expert guiding skills. The tour was informative and fun!

I did not expect to learn so much about the history of Mining in this “old little mine tour”. I was so wrong. Tom was our tour guide and we were lucky to have a small group which allowed for extra discussions on any topic...More

The experience was really great. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The people in the gift shop or very friendly and enthusiastic. For a while it seems like we traveled back in time and it was exciting at the end to pan for...More

Our family had so much fun at the Argo Tunnel and Mill. The guide was very interactive, fun for children to listen to and overall a really nice person to spend our time with. The gold panning was a great way to start or end...More

WE went here for a visit to get an idea of how the mines in the USA differed (or not) from mines we had seen at home in the UK. The tour was lead by an interesting character who seemed to have all the necessary...More

Took the family on a tour, well a tour of the mill anyway. Not much to see of the actual gold mine which was a real disappoint for the money spent. Would have been well worth the money if you actually got to go into...More

The history of mining is clearly important to this state and the country and these closed mines and smelters are worth a visit. Our tour was brief for $23.00 and our guide, whole obviously a nice fellow, appeared a bit rocky on his facts and...More

It was a little disappointing that you don't get to go into a mine. Most of the tour consists of walking through the old mill which is pretty cool! The history of the mine and mining industry in that area is interesting. I probably wouldn't...More

Hell there. You walk into it, is a more accurate description. It’s a tunnel bored into the side of a hill. It’s spacious and well lit with a solid walking path. You will go 110’ in. There is a sturdy wooden deck outside... More
