We were driving on Highway 50 not knowing this was on the way to our next destination. What an amazing stop! Monarch Pass is at 11,312 feet located on the Continental Divide at the southern end of the Sawatch Mountain Range. There is a tramway and gift shop on site. You MUST STOP HERE! Do yourself a favor and take... More

Such a beautiful place! We went to mark seeing the Continental Divide at Monarch Pass off my bucket list. It was so worth the trip. What a gorgeous view...we felt like we were on top of the world. The view on the way up the mountain and down the mountain was spectacular too. My husband had been there when he... More

This is a great little stop with Good bathrooms, a nice snack bar and good gift shop. Definitely take the gondola to the top, the views are great and the price is reasonable.

My son's Boy Scout Troop went to the Monarch Pass mountain top look out, just above the visitors center. We played in the snow, IN JUNE, which was a great adventure for a group of young men from Houston who had never even seen snow! This was a great stop and we had a lot of fun hiking the top... More

I've been to Monarch Pass many times, I just don't remember it being so beautiful! We stopped and rode the tram and stopped by the gift shop. Everyone was very nice. Never stopped at any of these places until now, and I've missed out. If you take to trip through Monarch, stop and take in the beauty.

If you come to CO, Monarch Pass is worth your time. It's just unbelievable. The pictures do not do it justice. Take a few minutes out of trip to see this place. You will not be disappointed.

We enjoyed our drive through beautiful Monarch. It is a lovely location and Monarch Crest was a literally and figuratively a high point of our road trip.

The Monarch Crest gift shop is a good place to stop and rest your legs if you are traveling east-west on 50. A good selection of gifts and souvenirs to choose from here as well as clean restrooms and a small restaurant. A sign in the parking lot gives the elevation of 11,312 feet and the fact that you are... More

A nice drive. There had been a rock slide and got caught in a bit of a traffic jam…but, what a nice place to get caught. The area is beautiful. You have to be careful with the speeders and twice I was passed on the wrong side…..these people have no regards for your life as well as their own.
