It's always a good day for a soak in the clear warm waters of the Ouray Hot Springs Pool! The hot springs of Ouray have been enjoyed since at least the 14th century when native Ute Indians used the naturally hot clear water for healing. Settlers came to the area in the late 1800's in search of gold and precious minerals, and many found comfort in the natural hot springs. The current swimming pool was constructed in the 1920's and has been a favorite destination ever since. Seven different springs supply the pool with water. At the source some of this water is 150 degrees! The pool consists of several sections maintained at different temperatures for different tastes. The hot section is approximately 104 degrees, and a soaking section, perfect for families and prolonged soaking, is typically 95 degrees, or so. The lap lanes and deep section are usually about 80 degrees in the summer and fall, and cooler than that in the winter months when there is snow on the ground. The Ouray Hot Springs Swimming Pool is an outdoor pool open all year. Many people enjoy the pool the most in the winter, after a day spent ice climbing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, skating on the local ice rink (skates are available to rent at the Hot Springs Pool), or simply as a place to relax and enjoy the splendid scenery of the San Juan Mountains.

Very reasonably priced! The pools were in great shape.... VERY CLEAN! I don't think I saw one bug in the pool, well, maybe one.... we floated around the really hot pool and the mid-warm pool for about 90 minutes... staff was very nice. Can't wait to go back and enjoy the next time we're in town.

We visit the hot springs every time we come to Ouray. We went Jeeping all day and needed a relaxing place. We ended up staying until they closed for the night. Really hot pool is great but I can't stay in it for too long. We love to feed the big fish. I see they are closing for renovations, but... More

No sulfur smells, and tons to do for kids and swimmers of all ages and abilities...waterslides, aqua-course, swimming lanes, kiddies pools, three levels of heat, NO SMELL OF SULFUR, and two big playground structures outside of the pool area. Kept us warm and happy when it got really wet and cold in mid-August due to some surprise rain storms. Very... More

Sadly, we arrived 2 days after the slides were closed. However, staff was friendly. The facilities were impeccable. The pool and views are amazing. It's a bit pricey for a family but fun to try at least once. I love that we could swim in the rain (but mind the lightning rule). There is a great playground and beautiful pond... More

Get a pass. You will want to return often. There's nothing like relaxing in warm mineral water while snowflakes dot your cheeks. I love the pool just before nightfall on a cool night when the sun is settling over the western wall of rock and pines.

Stopped in to enjoy the hot springs. We are staying in Bayfield and several people told us to make sure we visited Ouray hot springs. So we took their suggestion. There were several different water temps ranging from 76 degrees up to 105 degrees. We enjoyed the 97-105 temp. Water was soft and relaxing. Not sure why others report a... More

Buy the three punch value pass! You can come and go...and I have gotten a massage there twice- good value and quality. It has never been crowded when we went.

Such a beautiful place. Surrounded by the mountains. It's off the famous Million Dollar Highway in the San Juans. It truly is worth the trip. Lots of places to stay and camp. Absolutely loved it.

Smaller than Glenwood. Affordable and less smelly. Plus Ouray is so pretty I can't wait to go back and stay longer. The pool is about to go under renovation, so I'd check before you plan to visit. There are a few mechanical issues they plan to address. There are slides and an obstacle course, we didn't do that but those... More
